Interesting. I wonder if we have any inside connections here, but they don’t seem to matter as much in the portal world.

As a recruit the only common name seen is Denver, so it seems we have as good a shot as anyone

Started 55 games in the big 12 but then only played 11 games at smu last year only starting 1. Anyone know why?

Was looking on the SMU forum, and there's a post from 11/25 talking about a wrist infection, which was their opener.... and he didn't play in a game until 12/16.

He then played every game from 12/16 to 2/3 (starting that last game). He didn't play in their 2/8 game, and then SMU had a long Covid pause that took them through to 3/12. He didn't play 3/12, either (their message board cited "personal reasons"), and returned for their last game of the season on 3/18.

From what I found, SMU played 17 games but he had a infected wrist that kept him out at the beginning of season.
That might have hindered his game the whole year , but that's my uneducated guess.

Madhats guess was correct. He had no preseason and missed first 40 percent of regular season. Never in the game physically or mentally. Was never ready to come back so the question arises if he is Physically at point to come back now. He lost two fingers on his right hand which was dominant and taught himself to play from the left side. Seems like a tough kid.

He lost the fingers as a toddler. Amazing that he’s as good as he is.

Yor looks very impressive in that video in so many facets of the game. I would love it if he came to RU but I don't have any idea if he would be content to split time with Cliff or be his backup. He might want guaranteed major minutes.

Yep.. may want big minutes, however, could make Cliff a better player by going up against this kid in practice. Nice combo at the five!

The minutes will be there for the right 4/5 with regular "back-up" minutes, Cliff's foul trouble (at least as a Frosh) and Twin Towers line-ups.

I feel like may the tide can shift now from where it was earlier in the off season for us. As other teams have filled out their rosters maybe this slot will look more competitive compared to the PT available at remaining competitors? Certainly we have more PT available than Utah, Texas and Arkansas up front?

He's wouldn't start at Virginia Tech (Aluma) or Texas (Disu) either, and Arkansas has a couple of decent bigs too.

Yes, the kid was hospitalized at one point. I'm not sure how long he was in the hospital.

Also, he got a waiver to play immediately at SMU. So, he may have blown his one-time transfer/immediate eligibility opportunity. I'm still trying to get clarity on that with several programs who have an incoming player in the same situation. None of them know if their transfer will be eligible in the upcoming season.

If Geo and Ron return and we just gave the scholarship to Nathan, what's left for 2021?
