New Transfer Rule!!

The local school system can override the rule and not allow just as Forsyth County allows students to transfer without a residency change as have other districts.
I think the NCHSAA is probably being proactive to changes outside their "jurisidiction". Legislative and legal options could be the reason they went this way as they have been adamantly against this in the past.
Naw brother here is THE rule:
REVISED TRANSFER RULE
The Board of Directors heard from several committees and staff regarding potential changes to the Transfer Policy. The following will be applied to any transfers from one LEA to another LEA.
1. A student’s first transfer after initial entry into the 9th grade is not subject to the NCHSAA transfer rule, provided both LEA’s agree to the transfer. For any transfer thereafter, the student must sit out for 2 consecutive semesters (at least 50% of the current semester plus the following semester) or 365 days, whichever is less.
2. The NCHSAA Transfer Committee will be composed of the NCHSAA Executive Committee and at least one (1) non-district affiliated member.
3. Students who want to participate in cheerleading are not subject to the transfer policy, however, all current eligibility requirements would remain applicable.
So if an LEA does not want someone transferring in they have to take them anyway?
Kind of goes against that wall thing trying to get built down south doesn't it?
An LEA cannot be required by the NCHSAA to take in a student that does not live in the district. Period. The NCHSAA does not administer the rules for education. That is the legislature, DPI, local school boards, and their LEA.

Ok, article made it seem with the new rule change that this was made possible. I have no issues with transfers regardless if it puts a kid in a better situation for them to reach their goals.
Flagler should be fired for posting that story. These were residency changes and had zero to do with the new NCHSAA rule. These would have been legit at anytime and I am sure he knows it. I guess there is a reason why you are writing for the Gaston Gazette.
