I've never seen anything this sad by a bunch of posters. I've been reading on this site for years but i had to say something. If I were a recruit and saw some of the things people say here, I'm not sure I would want to commit to State either. It's just constant complaint thread after complaint thread. I just dont see how this helps. Go to an Ole Miss message board and see how upbeat they seem. It gives off a much better vibe to a recruit. Just my two cents

I've been reading for a while. I just don't see why complaining is a good idea at this time of year. I wish we could be top ten in recruiting right now myself but we should be cheering for the guys we got, not lamenting the ones we don't. It doesnt send a very good message. No one likes the guy who just whines to his girlfriend about the girl he could have had

You explain to me why our bitching hurts more than your bitching. I'll hang up and listen.

Not a joke, im excited to see how these O line prospects pan out. We are also adding some good linebacker depth and some pretty good defensive linemen. Sure, it could be better, and im optimistic we pull some magic and land some folks we aren't expecting, I just think we should pump the brakes for a second. Not sure why everyone says I should go 17 myself either.

Well one of those OL prospects that we were counting on just signed with LSU.

Maybe he's right... LSU fans are so well known for being rational and supportive through thick and thin.... probably why they got him and we didn't.

Still, it isnt all doom and gloom just yet. I may be biased because I worked on the student staff for Mullen a few years but I really do think he is doing the best to better this university. And he will bounce back and have a hell of a recruiting class next year. Just what I think will happen. And when I said i was new, I meant new to posting.

I was talking mainly about Erroll. We will add some players today who will help us out, and have a good class next year. Pretty sure the new hired on staff will pay dividends soon. And to the people wanting Mullen gone, what's our alternative exactly?

Our alternative is someone who wants to be in Mississippi coaching football in

the SEC making 5 million a year, paying their assistants very well, creating an environment where asst. coaches want to stay and creating an exciting and hard working recruiting machine. Candidate needs average coaching ability, sound familiar? Hell, I've even heard women's basketball coaches can do it*.

I remember people asking that exact same question before Mullen was hired. Mississippi State football didn't begin with him and it won't end with him.

SWEET. 3 Tight Ends. Guess we're still going with the move a tight end to OT thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.**

Semi thread hijack. If we pull a good class next hear, how much will this class hurt?
We were able to redshirt a lot of players from last years class. There is clear talent with the younger players (ie Deer). We seem to be in good shape in "most" positions (qb). And we were able to sign presumable good OL players (a position we needed)
Not blowing sugar coated smoke, just asking a logical question.

If we were #3 in national recruiting, there'd be plenty of good vibes here too

The facts are Dan can't recruit worth a ****.
