Unless Forde and Thamel are waiting for a bombshell, I think we have been told all that is in regard to UK. Forde states that Miller and Self have the most to lose. He would put Cal out there as quick as anyone. Maybe he is just holding on to that bombshell story, but I highly doubt it.

That means IMO they have talked with all the staff and current players. Got their side and feel that it is at non-issue at this time.

Nicely worded to reflect "current" staff and players. Gonna be hard to prove anything with past players and staff unless they were stupid enough to get caught on a wiretap...or just stupid enough to cheat anyway.

So does that mean the "appropriate authorities" everyone was talking about when this first broke was the NCAA and SEC, not the FBI...or am I reading that wrong?

Great news. Glad to have Knox in action, and with Sandy (I’m assuming she was) involved with the internal review no cause for concern from UK’s end here.

The Noel one puzzles me. The date on the entry was late 2015, but why would Noel need a small loan while he was already in the league? Odd.

The loan was still on the ledger end of 2015. Maybe he was loaned money after the 2013 season and never paid it all back?

Disagree - by all accounts they are not done with the leaks, and they will build up to the bombshell. Too early to wipe the brow in relief....

Noel signed with Miller in 2013.

Noel fired Miller in 2016.

Anything could have transpired within this time frame.

Would agree...

If this mess is as serious as everyone keeps alluding to, then Forde and Thamel have more and they're going to milk it and slowly keep the fire burning through the NCAA tournament and maybe into the summer.

This is the type of thing that fuels news cycles. Wouldn't make sense to throw it all out and let people get over it as soon as March Madness, baseball season, and NBA finals roll around. Come the slow season later in the summer when people are over MLB and the only other thing on is NCAA baseball/Women's softball, this story will be big. Thamel and Forde will be on every cycle talking about it.

Also not sure "we didn't find anything wrong" is sufficient. How many programs guilty of something have said that over the years? How many of us would take that as good enough it were some hated rival saying that ?

Nothing to worry about. If you want to wring your hands and worry, go ahead.

You guys are crazy if you think Forde and Thamel are holding onto a bombshell. You put your story out there ASAP so some competitor doesn't scoop you.

Now will more info come out as they continue to investigate is the question.
I don’t think they’re holding on to a bombshell, yet...
Think Woodward and Bernstein and Watergate, took months for the full story to unravel, plus “deep throat” (who worked for the FBI). Clearly, they have a deep throat, probably more, who are feeding them information. And, the grand prize is going to be one, or all, of the bluest programs.
This **** ain’t over...

Reporters do not hold back a story because someone else may beat you to it...such as Matt Drudge with Clinton-Lewinski. Newsweek held back to protect Clinton so this is exactly the opposite motivation.

Right
But, they do hold back when they don’t have the full story. I’m betting they don’t have that, yet...

Hard to "generationally" change players and their families lives by basing that on lying, cheating, and stealing....Just can't see Cal with that attitude and cheating at the same time. Two ways of life can't be achieved at the same time. It cannot...

NCAA has bigger fish to fry, than Kentucky, who they know for sure has been clean for the better part of a decade or so, the NCAA has always watched Cal with a fine tooth comb. Even when he was at Memphis.. I agree on the big mouth, somebody has got there feelings hurt over something and they are looking to take everybody down with them..

Cal will always be accused of cheating, while POS slime balls like Izzo and Capel will be treated like the gods of basketball, when in reality, they are the ones doing the ****..

Maybe, but this isn’t the NCAA’s fish fry.
The FBI is driving this boat...
