Plus not everyone is the same. What about parents with younger kids who need to use the facilities and they are in the 80th row of south stadium and getting up and down can mean missing half of an entire quarter.

South is horrible. North East is just about as bad especially if you get there a little too close to pregame and anthem. You can be stranded on those ramps for 15 minutes.

The place is iconic but damn it needs updated. It can't go another 20-30 years as it sits currently.
God bless the people who are still paying good money to sit in that crowded end zone seating. I think an overhaul of south stadium is long overdue.

I did hear one Husker media type praise Dannon for being an expert at raising revenue. I definitely believe that the new chair backs in west stadium will have an increased price tag in some form. But the problem is those chair backs are going have the same legroom as flying coach on Frontier airlines.
Looking at the rendition, if it's truly accurate, the west side appears in for total redo as well as the bowl section appears to be 2 new split sections

Not a single actual football player depicted in any of those renderings. Not one.

Tells you everything you need to know about our administration's mindset. The actual team is such an afterthought, they didn't even bother to include them.

"Annual revenue from the new stadium is expected to reach $95 million, an increase of over 40% above current levels and positions Nebraska to compete and lead at the highest level in a rapidly evolving college athletics landscape. By expanding Memorial Stadium’s capabilities to host concerts and major events year-round, the venue will position Lincoln as a premier destination for entertainment, extending its influence well beyond game day."

It sounds like they're going to raise the tickets / donations by 40% for the new seats so you might be right about people not returning.
You are misreading the 40 percent comment. That is the revenue will increase by 40 percent with the new gigs because they will be able to host more major events in the off football season. It’s not just raising the prices for the tickets/ donations.

It's mostly the donations, Dannen is ending grandfathered tickets with no donations and reseating people. He has said previously that's 22 million they're missing a year.

"Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen has confirmed that 43% of current season ticket holders are grandfathered in and do not pay seat licensing fees, a situation he states must change to fund future stadium renovations and ensure economic sustainability.

Financial Impact: Dannen estimates that if all these grandfathered seats required donations today, it would generate approximately $22 million in new annual revenue."

The numbers I’m hearing from my West stadium brethren is way more than a 50% seat fee increase. I’ve heard as much as 4X as much but nobody knows for sure yet. 🤷‍♂️

Nobody will pay 4x their current donation.
I dunno. Some would. We’re considering dropping our tickets just because all of our kids and grandkids are in Texas and the east coast now. It’s gotten tough to make it to games. My daughter just made an east coast NFL dance/cheer squad so my wife wants to go to their games. 😕

Could be the “start high to make the final number sound reasonable” sales ploy.

Now Dingle you know the rules we are going to have to see pictures for proof of the dance/ cheer.😉

From what I'm hearing, 2-250M from private donations that I think were already there. The rest will come from bonds. This is a great plan because they will get snatched up fast if tax free. This won't affect nil
BS it's won't affect NIL. Complete lie.

I bet it's both. The revenue from hosting new gigs will be nice, but I wonder how much that will actually bring in. And will large concerts compete with PBA for consumer spending dollars?

Well no one can say that these guys aren't doing anything to earn their large salaries and generous benefit packages.

WAY easier to watch all the games on TV now.

This Is very true. Plus for a big guy like me space would definitely be an issue. I always appreciate our fans for how they represent for us. To this day that takeove in OKC was amazing to watch. As a Virginia fan I was blown away seeeing the support those guys got.

It’s funny you mention OKC .i was there And all the Paycom center personnel told me that place was the loudest they heard it when Frager made the layup with 2.5 seconds. And The thunder won a world championship on that court .

Agree to an extent. If we were Natty title contenders we would fill up the stadium if the benches had tacks on them. Comparing the in home viewing experience today vs 1995 is a whole other animal and the stadium comfort and amenities will need to stay ahead in order to attract people. Winning cures everything - but this is also important to compete with the couch and 75” HD multi game view experiences.
This is a huge waste of money and doesn't address the future implosion of the program because there will be an entire generation of people who haven't seen us win. This is pure leadership promotion material that we have all experienced at jobs. Somebody in a position of power undertakes a task to put on a resume to get promoted even though that task does nothing to improve the bottom line. EVERYTHING should be going to getting a better football team right now.

Apparently you don’t have season tickets in the south stadium, so what does it matter to you.
I had tickets in the south. When Trev first Started this talk I moved to west club because I didn’t not have a seat for a season. They definitely needed to do something . I personally think they could have just settled for what they did in the north and it probably would have cost a lot less . 🤷

I've got 2 seats in west stadium and haven't heard a peep other than speculation and a group call from the university a couple years ago gaging sentiment and interest.

I'm assuming if plan is approved on Friday that they will have more details shortly. They did tell us that there would be ample time to make a decision. I'm sure internally that plan is set. Just like the current bob Devaney remodel and reseat

It would be patching a bald tire maybe but they could add a concourse halfway up South stadium with two new entrances without tearing down the existing structure. Easier to get out the wrecking ball I guess 🙄

$22 million, eh? My guess is that number assumes they can do whatever they want and fan behavior remains unchanged.

What the hell is the PBA for? Lincoln taxpayers already subsidized that monstrosity...I wonder what these "expectations" would be if the decision makers had to pay for the shortfall instead of just relying on "donations'. A 40% increase in profits is insanity. I just hope people stop donating and let this swamp of criminals scatter. The AD already relies on 70-80 million of donations to stay solvent...this isn't a business it is a charity for blind.

the only thing I'd change is push the big screen back put it on posts and make it wider and taller so it connects to each stand on the sides...keep that sound in...plus you could throw some more seats in front of it....just have like a 15 foot barrier around the screen..precast or something

Good thing UNL is state inspected. The new dipshit in the Lincoln office would require 90,000 bathrooms.
