I would think we can get $500,000 a year to fund some athletes for the RTC over what we spend now. In this day of NIL, why would John or anybody still have a problem with it?

Regarding facility....what do we need in one? A great locker room, weight room, training room with hot/cold tubs, etc., large wrestling room, and maybe a small, cool meeting room. Now Ohio State also has basically a small arena with theirs if I remember correctly...is that really needed? Where is our wrestling room now? Where is the wrestling weight room and training room and how good are they? Is there a plan for use of these new locker rooms if we get a separate wrestling facility?
I'm pretty sure Mike Holder said the duals would continue to be held in GIA. Right now the wrestling room, locker room & weight room are in GIA. I'm guessing those would all be part of the new facility, along with things like a training room, sauna, lounge, kitchen, etc.

Here's a couple of recent videos of the basketball & baseball facilities for comparison. I'm guessing a lot of people have seen them already, but if not ...

Getting stacked up on talent. I like it.
That is the truth. With Young, Travis Mastro, Victor Voinovich, Anthony Ferrari and now Jordan Williams we have 5 blue chip recruits signed or verbally committed who will wrestle for 3 or 4 weights. They will wrestle 141, or 149 or 157 or possibly 165. Iron sharpens iron and you will have to be really good to wrestle for the Cowboys at these weight classes in the future. We will need to work redshirts well and hopefully we can find a spot for each of these kids. It is likely 1 of these 5 will be left out but each needs to work hard and the best will win spots. Super 32's will be good but I wish Anthony was wrestling also instead of being injured

I hate that Anthony is injured. He has lost a ton of weight. Last year he walked around in the mid 160s. He looks around 140ish. I’m sure he will get back to where he needs to be. Just sucks not to see him out there being a buzz saw

Flo updated their 2022 Big Board:

Ferrari #12 (was #15)
Williams #16 (was #4)
Blankenship #95 (was #66)

Looks like Blankenship was dinged for not wrestling much the past year & Williams dropped because he took a loss to Hunter Garvin (#21) at Folkstyle Nationals. We know Blankenship is underrated, but I also think Williams has one the highest ceilings in the 2022 class.

Throw Austin Boone in there also.

Where is Clayton Buttram from Bixby rated on Flo? I know his family.

Braeden Davis of Michigan. Don't know much about him but if he has been on campus already he must be a pretty high target.

Lockett is class of ‘25. Other ‘23 recruits could include:

Gabe Arnold, Wyoming Seminary Prep, PA via GA
Jersey Robb, Bixby
Nate Jesuroga, IA (just committed to Iowa but hopefully they keep on him).
Sam Smith, Stillwater (I think he is in this class)
The Crutchmers, Boone, Doucet, and Manibog all have little brothers in this class that could be targets similar to Cutter Sheets in the ‘22 class.

Class of ‘24 some worth watching in addition to your list:
Landyn Sommer, Stillwater
Luke Lilledahl, MO
Mason Gibson, PA

Jersey Robb, if he chooses wrestling is an extremely high ceiling type of recruit. Beat the OU blue chipper once and has narrowly lost to him a few times also. This is coming from a guy who wrestles part time and was two years younger

Are we connected to Gabe Arnold? I saw we were after Nate Jesuroga & Mason Gibson, but didn't see anything about Arnold. He would be great for 165/174.

A couple of other possibles for 2024, Chris Coates (KS to MO) & Hunter Hollingsworth (OK). Coates is the guy that wore an OSU singlet a couple of years back. And thompsonja mentioned Hollingsworth once before, he lost to Giddens-Buttram in the state finals.

When I checked it does not appear to be any of our top recruits will be wrestling at the Super 32's. Some of our potential recruits are wrestling such as Young Voinovich and Youngest Ferrari. I saw Cutter Sheets is wrestling. For the last few years we have not gotten to see our senior year top recruits wrestle many times in their senior years. It sure would make Super 32's much more interesting if Anthony Ferrari and Jordan Williams were wrestling. I know Blankenship is playing football now. What is Anthony's injury where 1 poster thinks that he looks so much smaller now than last year ( can't lift weights maybe)?

Does anyone know what weight Angelo Ferrari and Kael Voinovich are projected at?
They are only sophomores so projecting where they end up is hard to do. In this tournament Ferrari is wrestling 160 and Voinovich is wrestling 145. Ferrari is growing because he wrestled 152 last year but likely could have made 145 with ease but Teague Travis was a 145. This is a National, big tournament so if he could wrestle 152 he probably would, so he is really growing. Voinovich was at 145 last year and 145 this year. Victor Voinovich did not grow much at all from his freshman year to his senior year. I would think Voinovich would project to 149, and Angelo could be 165 all the way to 184.

Angelo Ferrari went 138 at Super32 last year and he is going 160 this year. Pretty good jump. Kael Voinovich went 145 last year and he is going 145 again this year.

It would be nice if Anthony Ferrari & Jordan Williams both hit a little growth spurt. Hopefully they end up 165/157 in some combination. 174/165 might be even better, though it doesn't seem likely.

Some of the high schools are starting to certify on Track. Jordan William's alpha weight was 170, meaning he weighed in at least 160.1 I believe. That's potentially good news. He told Flo that when he won state @ 152 this year he was only about 144, so he seems to be putting on some size.

Jessie Mendez has picked his school and will announce tomorrow according to FLO. Hopefully he is not going to Penn. St. or Iowa. He is the number 1 recruit this year. We have had 3 great recruiting classes in a row.

Braedan Davis & Cael Hughes took officials to OU this weekend. OU has Joey Cruz coming in @ 125, so it's interesting they made his top 5. He's supposed to announce his decision this month.

Those 3 recruiting classes top wrestlers are : AJ=197, Plott=174, Trevor Mastro=125 and HWT Surber and Doucette. Second class is : Young= 141, Voinovich= 149, Travis Mastro=141-157 and Kyle Haas=184-197. The Third class is Blankenship= 133, Anthony Ferrari=157-165, and Jordan Williams 157-165. I think every weight class is covered in these 3 recruiting classes and actually spread out very nice. Next year we need a 125 ( some have expressed concerns on how long Trevor will be able to make 125), a 184 if Haas doesn't prove good enough, and a HWT if Surber or Doucette don't come through. Our needs may be small and so as Wrassler indicated Braedon Davis may be the most important get. I really like Cael Hughes and Jersey Robb as in state recruits( However I don't know if they would like how our roster looks if they want to start early in their careers). Our podcast guy really thinks a lot of Doucette for the future at HWT. I am curious how Doucette( actually I look forward to seeing how all of our wrestlers look this year) looks this year because most wrestlers make their biggest jump between their 1st and 2nd years

Blankenship is certified @ 132 for this season. It's possible we see him vs Bouzakis at the Walsh Ironman next month. Stillwater & Broken Arrow are also going along with Bixby. Dugan2035 mentioned Blankenship as a possible college 125, that could be interesting if we miss on Braedan Davis.

I'm really hoping we get Cael Hughes & Jersey Robb. With redshirts (and even greyshirts possibly) they would fit well.
