Hecklinski, Brown, Sullivan, Fitzgerald, Bessinger, Santibanez. I like that qb room. Especially the younger guys. But given only 1 can start, and he stays healthy, and KF's affinity for playing t he starter until he drops. you'll probably see portal moves from some. Just the twisted times we now live in.
Didnt Joe Flacco play at Delaware? 3rd string Qbs are going to look to play at other schools

God I hope his best days are ahead of him. Otherwise we're getting a guy who topped out as a high school quarterback.
You are Mr. Doom and Gloom. Questioning a recruit before he becomes a Hawk. Just like you questioned Dotzler on the OL. Did you play the game? Doubt it.

Doom and Gloom? 🤣 You either are simple or lack the ability to comprehend what you read. Of course his best days are ahead of him... Mr Obvious. He's a hs senior going off to college as a highly sought after recruit. His best days are no doubt ahead of him. Don't really need Tyler to break that earthshattering news to me like it's some big scoop. Pretty easy to know and understand that. Sorry you're having trouble with it. Pointing that out is doom and gloom? And please point out where I "questioned" him. Im ecstatic he is a Hawk. You are easily upset I see. And of course I question Dotzler on the OL. He's a RS SR for God's sake who has never started in 5 years and may finally get his chance to do so. And like I stated, I wish him nothing but the best of luck this year. Hey... let's hope HIS best days are also ahead of him, should he earn a starting spot.

I'm just happy he's a dual threat. I thought Gronowski did a great job with his legs this year.

Duel threat qb's are the type of qb Kirk should have been recruiting his whole career at Iowa
Fans fall for the "dual threat" label every time.

To me, "dual threat" means a threat to be used in the passing and designed run games.

That's not the same as merely having the mobility to scramble. Because in today's game, pretty much every qb needs some mobility.

A lot of guys that aren't true duel threat, get mislabeled in high school, as they are good enough athletes to outrun most of their opponents (especially at smaller schools). Furthermore, high school coaches will use them in the designed run game, a lot more than what would apply at the college level.

Anyway, I'd be very surprised to see Santibanez in much designed run. Just based off the look of his build.

There really isn't as much designed qb run in college ball as people think there is. And I could see it even becoming less for guys getting big NIL, and not wanting to take the pounding.

Yes, Grono was a true dual threat player. I would love to be proven wrong, but I wouldn't expect to be seeing any more Grono's any time soon. Iowa may again have a true dual threat qb. But they very most likely, will not be pounding "A" gap with him.

Grono was a very unique player. Very Tebow-like, indeed

It's not the designed run I'm thinking about. It's the run when the pocket is collapsing and nobody is open. Can you make positive yardage is that situation

Yes, that's the type of mobility to scramble, that I mentioned is pretty much a necessity these days.

Most have that.

But few are true dual threats
