The season is over. Thousand of players in the portal. Is there any news about the search for a new Offensive Coordinator? Waiting until after the bowl game is no answer. Someone should ask KF what his timetable is.

One begins to wonder if KF really gets it. The landscape has changed immensely. Programs not waiting around to make hires. The OCs from Kansas and Kansas St. were two individuals who I hoped would have been candidates for the opening. Both ran balanced offenses with creativity. Now both are off the board. You just about get the sense KF wants to go pedestrian in the hire so his promotion of Brian to OC doesn't look so bad.
If Kirk got it he never would have given BF QB coach in the first place.
KF understands and has a sense of urgency here. He first has to get additional money so he can hire somebody, and then he has to do extensive interviews. All of this is happening currently.
I am betting most of the people in the portal have an idea of where they are going already anyway.
At this point, getting 6th year seniors to return is a priority too. Unless more Iowa players leave, there is not going to be much room for portal additions
one also wonders if some fans understand that we are at the scholarship limit for next year and trying to bring back 6-10 of our own players. Portal additions will be much more limited this year if even 1/2 of the players return (taking us over the scholarship limit).
There is no way this is within KF's thoughts. Is KF perhaps slower and more methodical in his process? Yes.
KF doesn't have to get "extra money" their coffers are heaped to hire whomever they wish. KF has zero sense of urgency, or he would have demoted BF at the end of last season and hired a true OC\QB coach. Now here we are without a named OC that incoming recruits\portals can identify with and determine if IOwa is truly trying to make an impact on Offense and be competing in the playoffs or not.
I am wondering if KF names another lame duck OC if we lose more scholarship players, thus freeing up those scholarships? There could be an exodus like we had a few years ago, late in the cycle and really screws Iowa, again.
That too me is why getting a name and scheme out there is crucial to retaining who we have and possibly bringing in others down the road.
The offensive scheme since he has been here has been pedestrian, regardless of who he brought in.

The sad thing for Terio is Iowa literally has no scholarships so he may be SOL. With DeJong returning and the Aussie punter coming in, Iowa still has trimming to do before August. I'd love to see the statistics on how many kids get left high and dry because they jumped in the portal without ensuring that they had a landing spot.

With everyone returning for an extra year, they are filling the holes. Plus, we will be over our scholarship limit.
A veteran. OL that will be solid, plus some experienced WR, RB & TE, give me a healthy Cade & a new OC, and 2024 will be a great year!
