the big is adding 3 teams:
nd, miami, houston
(nd for 10 million each team) miami and houston for the #1 and #2 recruiting area (so cal is #3)
(nw to ivy, with stanford)

the sec is adding fsu, north carolina, and. couple other teams

so that will be big 20 teams, sec 20 teams...

then they will combine to make he NFL lite
40 teams, 4 divisions, 2 playoff games, 1 championship
every game will mean everything to a team.
systematic, on the gridiron only...no polls or opinions..

expect this to happen over the next 3 years.

carry on...

So, you felt one more of a million opinions/predictions about the direction of college football really needed its own thread? Got it.

Good discussion to have. I can't wait until we are in a regional conference again. I bet we start being good once we are back in a conference with Colorado, Kansas State, Kansas, Iowa State, Iowa, Missouri. I really think the move to the big 10 took all of the "ego" out of losing. Getting boat raced by Kansas State creates an existential crisis that we just don't feel when we get spanked by Wisconsin. Even Iowa was not really a rival compared to the teams in the big 8. Our entire program has seemingly lost its will to live and compete because we have no connection to the big 10.

Yeah might as well just make College Football a pro league with regional divisions at this point. Get rid of conference championships and expand the playoff to 24 teams.

Fantastic. It'll be a load of fun playing against a Big 10 schedule and then playing teams like Georgia and LSU in the non-conference. I'm sure our days of 10 win seasons will soon follow.

The NFL has rules and more parity though. And players can't every season quit before the season is over to enter the portal.

That is exactly what I think will happen, but it won't be 40 teams. It will be more. If they're going to have a small number, crap teams like Purdue are not going to be brought along if Northwestern is being kicked out. (They aren't willingly going to go FCS).
