"Players will be assessed a technical foul and ejection if they use derogatory language aimed at an opponent regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability."

I've heard many players use the derogatory "N word" towards each other as part of their normal trash talking dialogue with each other on the court...The strict interpretation of this new rule could get interesting real fast with a ref who goes by the book.
But refs don't call it by the book anymore. No worries.

Good that they are clamping down on language directed at opponents with physical disabilities. I hate it when I hear them call opponents in wheelchairs as "wheels." And guys on the floor with crutches deserve better than taunts of "tripod" etc..
You guys are getting it all wrong.
This is not about the players it’s about the refs
THEY are the the ones with physical disabilities and gender isuues.
Who may times has a ref been asked “are you ******* blind?” Or told “you need glades”?
Gender problems? It’s s fact; that 80% of refs remove their balls when doing a Duke game...
Wrell, one player needed this...Grayson had a couple of *****-fit meltdowns...

You are definitely not an idiot for saying that. The NCAA is consumed with PC stupidity. Consider the whole mascot issue....it is insensitive to have a native American mascot UNLESS you pay a native American tribe to sign off. To me, that makes no sense whatsoever.
Oh shut.
Listen to this (read).
Went to diamondbacks game last week They were celebrating tribal day. The Native American “little league” teams were introduced... i **** you not; one of the Indian teams had named themselves the Savages.
Savages. Effin Savages.

Asid..,Macho man’s family is planning on protesting

Maybe the NCAA will hire a bunch of stenographers and language specialists and psychologists to surround the court so we can really monitor this kind of behavior. More video cameras to catch all the angles for when, you know... when we need instant replay to rewind when a coach walks away from the scorer's table.... so we can then read their lips and make proper calls based on that.

It shouldn't add any more elapsed time for replays and reviews to any given game, maybe 1, 2 hours tops for the reviews alone. Game could still be over within 5, 6 hours once we're all done! Great job, Emmert!

Maybe some harsh finger pointing and gesturing needs to be looked at for a clarification to the rule some more for next year?? Should give the competition committee for fairness and ******** something really useful to do! Ooops, sorry, there I go again. I'm sorry, really, I am.

Language, people. LANGUAGE!

Great job Emmert, you are really doing an awesome job there!
