Davie did after all mentor Urban who mentored Ash.
Yeah but The Emperor after all mentored Darth Vader who spawned Luke Skywalker who killed them both. What do these two things have to do with a RU vs. New Mexico football game? I have no idea. Not sure playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon works in football.

Ok, you stay in a galaxy far, far away. Here on Earth, you tend to pick up a trick or two from your mentors. So many here attribute Ash's eventual success to Meyer. Meyer has been quoted as pointing to Davies as one he has modeled himself after. Point is, Davies knows what he's doing. And I wouldn't be surprised if some of Ash's training tactics comes indirectly from Davies.

New Mexico is NOT a push over, this is a trap game... if Flood was HC.

But, Ash understands that wins will be hard to come by this season, so every game is a must win.

I can't take them seriously unless you tell me it's a CLASSIC Trap Game. Trap game just doesn't cut it.

better speed than us??
our slots (Harris, Janarion, Dacoven) are as fast of a group as you'll find anywhere.
Our RBs have above average speed.
Our linebackers will probably be faster than just about any in the BiG.
Cioffi and Hampton have very good speed.

Why do you think their speed is better?

So...you wanna talk about our speed now? Hint: it's nowhere close to what you think it is (unfortunately...). WR's couldn't get open, RB's couldn't get past the 2nd level, LB's are quick but not nearly "faster than any in the B1G," and DB's are no quicker than most out there at this level. Where you really saw our lack of speed today was on our kicking teams.

Granted Washington is a very good team, however, every one of their units on the field today had more speed than us. No questions asked. We need A LOT more speed in this program.

I like our chance better against the run instead of the pass.

As I may have mentioned (didn't look back) they started their "passing" QB over their "running QB" this past weekend which is a change from '16 when they had the same two QB's as they have now. Does that mean a slight shift in philosophy or some other reason? Don't know.

We may have paper speed on the bench, that remains to be seen, but the team that was on the field on Saturday was SLOW, especially at RB, WR , LB and DB, where it matters.

I did not get the impression at all that the new LB's were slow. They looked a lot quicker than the '16 unit.

Questions:

Does New Mexico run the triple option like Navy and Army?

If we gave up 127 yards rushing to Washington how can New Mexico run for more if they aren't running the triple option?

UDub didn't have to rely on strictly running because they could play pitch and catch. Don't know this, but I'd guess UNM runs more rushing plays.
