That was all Ash. Pay attention.

Flood actually had some nice comebacks in his own right lol, we all know this. Ash deserves credit for working with what he has and for making adjustments. He's learning how to be a head coach too. You could be Lombardis long time right hand man but until you're the one calling the shots....

dunno but Rocky Colavito hit a HR in game 1 and got the pitching win in game 2 in a double header once for the Yanks over the Tigers

you mean for the Tigers over the Yankees; Colavito was not a Yankee. I've never heard of Colavito pitching or of Colavito doing this; could you give a citation or a link?

Gordon did install Colavito as a relief pitcher on August 13, 1958, in a home game against Detroit. In the second game of a doubleheader, Colavito relieved Hoyt Wilhelm in the top of the seventh inning and pitched three innings of no-hit ball against the Tigers. Colavito struck out one batter, and walked three.

He did not hit the home run, or get the win in the nightcap.

baseballreference.com has Colavito as a Yankee in 1968, he hit 5 HRs that year, and did in fact have a win as a pitcher. Can't say whether or not the W came during a double header because the 2nd half is about to start and I dont' want to research further.

Remember, ho excuses should be made when playing a program that RU should be able to beat.
For those who thought that NM is a program Ash would lose to, the Rutgers
team is proving you wrong so far and their not in Washington's class to be lumped in with them as acceptable losses because of any reason.
That said on to second half and I'll be posting after5 game
Go Rutgers and I do want Ash to be successful and feel he shouldn't get excused for everything while making RU FB Great

The highlight for Colavito came on August 25 when manager Ralph Houk beckoned him from the bullpen to relieve starter Steve Barber in the fourth inning. Pitching two and two-thirds innings of one-hit ball, Colavito picked up the victory for the Yankees. He was the last non-pitcher to win a game until catcher Brent Mayne of Colorado equaled the feat on August 22, 2000. Colavito walked two and struck out one. "When I got in the game, I threw mostly fastballs. A few curves and some sliders," said Colavito. "My slider worked better in the bullpen than on the mound, but it was there."

Some of "you" guys eh? Ok pal. Now I'm going to have you go back and look at every single one of my posts from this thread and tell me where you see "ntlrock1" bashing on Ash. I'll save you the time...you won't find it, bc its not real, as you just put words in my mouth. Way to go [thumb2]

My advice: 1. don't put words in ppl's mouths 2. stop bitching about people bitching, two wrongs don't....ppl care when the team sucks. And this is the message board to air that sentiment. Ya know, the Rutgers Football board. Personally, I was bitching about specific plays, not Ash. None of this is life or death- so the saying "suicide watch" is absolutely dumb.
i dont want your advice. enjoy the game.
