I would be disappointed if (when I was teaching) my 6th grade students posted the percent chance to win like it is at the top of this site.

Guessing: if you get a .5 you default round up. Wisconsin 20.5%, PSU 79.5%. Still, attaboy for the catch, Greg Garrity-esque.

To clarify, at the time of the OP the Polymarket site had UW at 21%, PSU at 80%, adds to 101%.

If UW was truly at 20.5% and PSU truly at 79.5%, it would add up to 100% but rounded up to whole numbers it would give you the 21% and 80% numbers. Maybe this s a reason?

Normal procedure is to round up at .5 (it’s what you're taught in third grade) so yeah, this is surely the reason.

To help my students with rounding, we put an arrow above the place value we are rounding to - whole number, tens, tenths - circle first number to the right.
Jingle - circled number greater than 4, we add 1. Circled number less than 5, we add none.
It worked.
