Just now realized that he was left handed. I agree I can see him playing the 4 with someone like Carey at the 5. Still think he ends up at UK.

I agree but Imagine him as the PF with a skilled big like Carey/Oscar the big bruisers who can man the 5.
Wiseman and Carey would be great but I see Wiseman as more of a 5 in that combo. Yes he can shoot, but he is a big-man through and through. Just his body type and the way he moves. Carey , while heavier, is a more fluid athelete and could run around like Terrence Jones.
Wiseman would be a 4 paired with Oscar tho.

Face up game is what he wants. In that vid only a couple of real post moves, 1 or 2 jump hooks as well. Proably better paired with a Carey or a real stud 5.
And if he's going to insist on that, I wouldn't want him.

He does not have enough skill to play the 4. He can't handle the ball all that well, he can't pass all that well, and any opponent is going to laugh and say "knock yourself out" if he wants to try and take 3's. He does, however, have the ability to be a center with a fairly versatile game, and that's exactly what the NBA is going to want from him- NOT a guy who is doing a piss-poor imitation of Kevin Durant.

I see ZERO advantage to playing 2 guys at the same time who are best suited to play center. It doesn't ever really work. Teams that try it are almost always easy to defend, because they usually have awful spacing, and at least 2 players who are no threat to beat anyone off the dribble.

He'll be used like Bamba was at Texas. He's the five, but he'll have the freedom to face-up, shoot and attack off the bounce if it's there.

Whether that's within the structure of Kentucky like KAT did, where he develops his overall game and shows the pros flashes of greatness in the perimeter game by picking his spots or is allowed to just go wild and expose himself as something he's not at Memphis is up to him.

He is a solid talent at the 5 and a highly skilled player. Would love to see him at UK, as he would be an incredibly important part of the team next season. Love his game and hope he commits to the Cats....

My thing is with Penny, what can he teach him at Memphis that he didn't teach him in high school, he could have practiced him all day long now he can only work with him for 20 hrs a week. I don't know who his assistants coaches are, I think Mike Miller is one if he is I don't think he can teach him to play in the paint, but at UK everybody knows coach K Payne and what he can do for his game. Jmt(just my thoughts)

Any coach that might pitch Wiseman on playing anywhere near the perimeter is failing him but I can see Penny selling him on that because the idea is probably appealing to the player. Most big men these days want to shoot threes but it takes an ultra rare and unique player to be effective doing that. He needs to become the best paint player he can be and make a living doing that.

Shaq shoot no three, Kareem shoot no three, Hakeem shoot no three all the time and he was the best suited to do so. They developed post moves to be greats, Wiseman just has to be effective to have a good nba career. Learn a hook like Kareem, learn a fade away or have amazing footwork like Hakeem. Don’t turn a mountain into a mole hill.

Cal and staff could make this kid a mega star if he is willing. The hard pull from family friends will be too much to overcome though imo.

He's not coming here.......... He listened to the memphis coaches and went to an Adidas AAU team with ties to the memphis coaching staff then turned around and ignored Cal and Nike that wanted him to go to a prep school and he decided to stay in memphis to play his senior year.

MAJOR RED FLAG.... WARNING.... WARNING..... WARNING. just in case you need it spelled out for you and are having a hard time reading situations.

It's hard to come away from that mixtape without thinking that if he's the top guy in the class, the 2019 class just blows.

Not sure it blows but i agree that as far as highlights go you could find a handful of bigs that do excatly the same things he does....catch a pass dunk, run the court get a rebound dunk, make a tiny little post move throw an outlet pass, etc. Being 7ft though and being that mobile with some touch is what makes him a long termp prosect. But yeah its not like he is flooring anyone with his game right now.
