I would say it all depends on the roster. If none of vandy, Gabriel and Washington come back, people won’t be as excited for next years team. There will still be people go, but it may not be as much as if those players return.

True I agree but I've wanted Cal's autograph for years and it's about the only scenario I see getting one before he retires ya know...so it would be worth it in that aspect alone to me

True I agree and still hoping at least 2 of those 3 come back

Been there twice, but not to see sports. Go for a good vacation, or just save your money for better games that really matter.

Anyone going? We are thinking about going for about 4 days

Still thinking on it and trying to figure out how I can fit it into my schedule.
I went to the last one and can tell you it was well worth the money. It was a great experience on all levels.

Are they playing in the same gym as before? If so, is it a small gym where you are guaranteed to be close enough to the action?

I just don’t see any scenario where it’s worthwhile. The cost far outweighs what you get in return, in my opinion.

I’m sure it’s a cool time but not for the money it takes to do it.

If you go, it's no where near worth the cost if you are ONLY going to watch the Cats.
But if you are going, with that as your vacation, with an added bonus of getting to watch the Cats, then it is much more reasonable (but still not cheap).

Atlantis is a great place for 3-4 days, especially if you have kids, but even for adults. Food is super expensive, but there are ways to save there too. For example we took a $10 water taxi over to Nassau and ate at a local restaurant one day. There is an Italian restaurant, a small convenience store, and a donut/bagel place all off-site, but a short 5-min walk, that are much more affordable.

We went 5 years ago (year before Cats were there) and I think for our family of 4, including airfare it cost us about $5K. I think that was 5 days / 4 nights.

Nah, i think it seats about 24k. It is the main arena in the Bahamas, it is where they host ALL of the big sporting events. No worries, i do not think it sells out though.

Go to a book signing. I've been to a couple of Cal's and it's a good setting to interact with him and get a personalized autograph.

That's 100% subjective. I'll agree though, if you just want to "see UK play". Probably not the way. But if you want the vacation, it's pretty dope. I've been to that resort a couple times just on cruises and vacation and it's pretty awesome. Obviously it's not in everyone's price range, but this isn't something they are doing to try an accommodate everyone.

Go to one of Cal's luncheons (I have been going for the last 5 or 6 years in Louisville). He is always mingling in the crowd for autographs and even pictures. I have a few pic's and autograph's myself, including a NIKE basketball ! [banana]

I have no idea how accurate this is, but I heard on ksr that it will be like $5,000-$8,000(?) I’d definitely go if I had the money!

I was quoted 2400 for 2 people. Includes flight, hotel for the week. Did not include tickets.

I shall be going. I am giving up my annual Rupp trip for this. Still going to NYC to watch them play. My girlfriend allows me to drag her to two games a year. I think Bahamas and NYC will be okay with her.

That’s probably closer to right. I don’t go by anything mj spends on things. He’s not in touch with the common man when it comes to money.

Fwiw it'd be pretty easy to get Cals autograph in other ways.
