Can someone please explain the flowers? Violets....for the NJ state flower? What's with the chain? I'm very confused
OK heres the link on how this relates to Black History Month. ( I still don't really get it)
If something needs a film to explain and it’s still not clear, the message is lost.
I like the idea of honoring black history month - but can someone explain how these uniforms relate? I’m not understanding it.
Here’s what Nebraska said about their uniforms:
The Huskers' cream-colored jersey features two distinct pieces. The multi-color pastels along the sides represent the tearing down of obstacles to create something beautiful, while the goldenrods on the lettering show gratitude and appreciation for the contributions of Black individuals within the program over the years. The goldenrod is the state flower of Nebraska. All of adidas' power conference and HBCU schools will wear similar-themed jerseys for a game during the month of February.
I believe that would mean the flower is the violet and the chains are spreading the same message.
Looks like the weed symbol to me and def explains why all the slow starts so may as well put it on the uniforms

Just a bunch of nothing. Just play 40 minutes of steady, consistent basketball and you can wear real suits of armor if you'd like.

Nice! Between the regular red and whites, the throwback, the blackout and now these, RU has the best uniforms in the Big Ten.

That’s fine Colbert. But do you wear the exact same clothes when people come to your house? And the same clothes when you go out to other places?
iMO, it’s OK to change it up a little and enjoy the creativity.
Maybe they want the other team to laugh the first few minutes and prevent RU from falling behind by 15 early.

The broadcasters is an another popular topic. Could not care less. Only thing I care about is the game itself, who plays well, who doesn’t, and who gets the W.
All fine & good. But when RU makes "announcements" across all of its social media platforms & mades a radical change to the uniform a little explanation from them is warranted. The link they provided in their announcement explains the focus of this years Black History Month, but doesn't explain why the unis are gray or why we are wearing flowers on them. Nebraska & a few other schools put out press releases with the explanation, while we put out cryptic videos.
Do any of us really care what they wear? I hope not. But if you are going to make a big change explain yourself in plain English
Some of us fans can find the info about why they are wearing them. Most fans will come tomorrow and say why?
I may be in the minority but I think they're cool. And it's only for ONE game so who cares. That said, I can't help but remember the one and onoy other time we had a big home game and broke out special gray uniforms... UVA at the RAC. Yikes. The return of Todd Billlet. Bad memories.

I'll make a wild guess that Addidas footed the bill for the unis.
As far as the removal of the "C".....I'd take the readings from the apparatus they wear in the shorts and give the Cs to the players on offense who are working the hardest as measured by change in heart rate.

I like the trim on this jersey a lot better than what’s on our normal uniforms.
If they took the wide stripe (red obviously) with the thin outer black stripe and applied that to our home uniforms, I’d prefer that over the weird disconnected stripes that we currently have.
