Most likely this is different from any other conspiracy you have ever heard. Go back to 1996 when Scott Frost first started as a Nebraska QB. A lot of fans did not like him back in the day. Some of the fans felt he was a traitor for going to Stanford his freshman year. Some of the fans blamed him for not getting Nebraska to a national championship in 1996. A lot of not so nice fans back then took out their frustrations on Scott and booed him whenever he went onto the field. Perhaps Scott is still bitter about the way some of the fans used to treat him and he is tanking on purpose to stick it to the fans who used to disrespect him.

I believe more fans weren’t happy with him be involved in the Lawrence Phillips incidental

This is not just the dumbest post of the day, week, year, or decade. It's the dumbest post of the 20th & 21st century combined.

No offense to the OP, of course.

So Scott is so bitter about his treatment from 20 years ago that he moved his family across the country for payback? Destroying the last remnants of the program that his aging mentor built and dropping a free weight on the old coach’s foot in the process?

Granted, I don’t think he likes the fans or the local press (watch one of his first year UCF press conferences vs the ones he’s done in Lincoln from Day 1—it’s almost like two different people), but tank job? Nah. Just a level of incompetence that makes the Chris Ash rebuild at Rutgers seem respectable by comparison.

Or he just likes to hear the sound of boos based on his performance.

If he really wanted to stick it to the fans of DONU he could have just turned down the job and not tanked his career in the process.

Though I can’t say that this same thought hasn’t crossed my mind it would be too elaborate and would require too much work and planning for Frost to pull off. No…he is just a bad Head Coach here.

I think the problem with frost was when he was crying bout NU should be #1 in 97. while your jason peter, and winstroms,, greens..etc..knew we were #1...did all the talking on the field, executing..
we basically trained manning on football, while the michigan was ducking in the rose bowl with the ducks.
the stanford stuff is understandable we had frazier, brooke, terminator, etc..(dr. tom had a stable of qb's at the ready)
and lp/kate stuff could be overlooked.maybe kate was quite the temptress.
but crying bout #1 when everyone in the world knew we were was....disturbing at best...
it like me saying gravity exists...duh...

While this conspiracy theory is asinine, it is more plausible than all other conspiracy theories the weirdos on this board have come up with.

Michigan didn't play the ducks in the Rose Bowl, they played Washington State that year. Washington State was better than everyone thinks, most likely they were better than Tennesee. If Nebraska and Michigan play that year, Nebraska probably wins but it is a close game, likely a TD or less.
