Are you 5 years old? Makes sense. We were ranked #1 not long ago.

Really? Yes we were but can you honestly say that number 1 ranking was justified?

Those wins that got us to number 1

LSU finished 4-4 in conference
Texas A&M 3-5
and Auburn 4-4

Let's be real, we just caught lightning in a bottle and capitalized off of early season overhype of LSU, A&M and Auburn.

It was absolutely justified at the time. There's always things you look at in hindsight, but geeze man you sure are negative right now.

Glad to have him. But like others I also have concerns about our current staff’s ability to develop players. All those guys listed that were low stars that were developed in to great players were developed under the previous staff. Mostly what I see now is regression which doesn’t bode well for signing three stars. It’s fine if we have a staff that will get after it developing players. I won’t bash a player though for wanting to play with state.

He looks like a really impressive player to me, FWIW. Not all 3 stars are created equal. He will hit you, which isn’t as common as you’d think in high school linebackers, and is extremely well built for a high school senior. State’s program has historically, for whatever reason, evaluated and signed the LB position well. I’d be willing to bet he will be a big time contributor at State.

The key to us being competitive is not recruiting 5 star players...it's player development. This kid fits the bill...if we can develop him.

Not disagreeing but we have to start making progress in recruiting.

Hopefully Joe's personality & ability to connect with people will start making a big difference over the next couple of years as he had a chance to recruit guys through their entire process
