I think they're building a new stadium or renovating? Maybe they will pack 30 or 40k in there once it's done.
They are building a new stadium, but I believe its max capacity will be under 20,000, if I remember correctly. It’s gonna be pretty, overlooking Lake Michigan, but tiny.

At least, that’s my recollection.

Edit: new stadium capacity will be 35,000. Google is my friend.

Supposed to be 35k. Not sure why you would build new and go small but it's NW.
Proposed design highlights include:

  • A more intimate setting: Significantly smaller crowds — designed for a maximum capacity of 35,000, more than 12,000 fewer than the current Ryan Field, with a state-of-the-art canopy designed to focus noise and light on the field;

Interesting. Is it designed to easily add a tier if attendance exceeds expectations in the future?

I believe that’s where I got my low number, was the reduction of 12,000 seats, not a capacity of 12,000…

Penn State plans a $700 million, four-year renovation of Beaver Stadium, setting a completion date in time for the 2027 football season. The university will begin the project this year with maintenance and winterization work to ensure that Penn State can host a potential College Football Playoff game in 2024.

Is that correct tbat Kansas couldn't get even 21,000? Wow.
ku is playing their ooc games in a kc soccer stadium while memorial stadium is being renovated. thus the low attendance number. they will move to arrowhead for b12 games. jaybirds are also downsizing by ~10,000 to 40k. not sure that's wise because they tell us they will be headed to the b10 shortly and N would send that many fans to lawrence.

That picture is very reminiscence of the old Big-8 days after a Nebraska game. We were cruel to them on the football field but the University and downtown raked in big bucks. Fond memories. I would enjoy a Kansas or K-State bowl matchup.

Which begs the question… how long do we let them pretend to be a P4 conference?
Says a lot that as of now Colorado is the 2nd winningest program in that conference behind West Virginia. And I believe the last team to win a national championship! They’ve spent more weeks in the top 25 than anyone else.

They’re adding sound-proof rape rooms next to the football locker room.

I think the stadium size makes sense for their fan base. Seems like it will be a very similar environment to some Premier League venues and designed to be loud even with fewer people. It's very much in line with their average attendance this century.

A nearly full stadium with 33,000 people in it

Worth noting that Penn State was at WVU Saturday so the second biggest B1G stadium isn't on the list either. Usually watch the PSU games with my Nits family members but didn't see all that much of it - I wonder how many PSU fans invaded the stadium before the weather delay?

On another note the new NW stadium looks pretty cool. Small though it will be. The attendance numbers will be pretty funny in the interim at any rate.

Controversial take but at the end of the day I'm glad we have a home in the Big 10. Especially with Texas and OU now moving from the Big 12 as well. Though admittedly I do miss the old rivalries at times.

The old rivalries are missed yes, as are the road games you can drive to on same day. But otherwise be glad we are out of the Big 12….it is a 2nd tier conference now. The winningest programs in there are West Virginia and Colorado. Last national champion, I believe is Colorado. Life has been rough on the field in the Big Ten, we’ve tripped all over ourselves and gotten curb stomped by teams we never thought would happen repeatedly. But I’m glad we aren’t in the new Big 12.

Need to keep semi-regularly scheduling CU. We both hate each other and it's a fun game when we play.

That's all the space they had in that location for their wine cellar.... Seats are extra wide to accommodate sweaters and pompoms...

Two additional B1G vs Big 12 matchups on the field this week.

Same with all the old rivals

Meaningful games matter
Agree. I just think the CU game has an unmatched passion. We both hate each other. Not fake, we made up a trophy and talk **** on anonymous message board but buy you a beer after the game hate. Real, I want to key your car or punch you hate.
