Brought in to stabilize program. Since he is not from area and can't recruit all these Texas spread kids to his pro style offense, he will fail and a spread guru will replace him in 5 years. He sounds like Gary Patterson type. Gary had to change style, but only Briles cracked the OU/TX recruiting hold, because he could sign top 25 or better ranked classes, no one else does that in the Big 12, which is also shy the league is considered weak. SEC had like 7-8 teams in top 15 in recruiting.

7 year deal. I think he'll be given a long leash. He'll be around to clean house & install a new culture, rebuild the program.

Oh for the love of god......

Here are Art Briles recruiting class rankings....

2008 - #51
2009 - #59
2010 - #41
2011 - #47
2012 - #46
2013 - #31
2014 - #34
2015 - #43
As per Scout.com
2014-23.
No other Big 12 team finished that high that I can ever recall and he also won 2 titles in a row, most other schools have zero, much less two. His recruiting was getting better. Now they will be Kansas and the out of region power football guy will be gone in 5-7 years, replaced by a spread guy that can "recruit" Texas better...

Like Charlie Strong's 5 years deal? He won't be winning with the OLD Patterson formula, or will he? Which HS teams in Texas play pro-style of QB under center ball outside of Trinity, Mansfield, KC and Katy and all the south Texas teams that run the slot-t, but they don't produce D1 talent often. He will stabilize recruiting and be replaced, unless Baylor doesn't want to rebuild the house that Art built?

Put the crack pipe down. There is help available. I know how tough it can be. I've been there. One micro second at a time, and you can beat this...

There are multiple recruiting services and Scout/ESPN, 247 and rivals don't agree. Baylor's recruiting was coming up because of Briles and that offense and winning. The big 12 is a WEAK conference and OU/UT fans are just relieved that Baylor basically got old SWC'd themselves. You know, when a no name started to rise they would get NCAA sanction and return to mediocrity after a DMN investigation...

Is this even a serious reply?? So one site has Briles barely cracking the Top 25 once in his 8 or 9 years at Baylor, that somehow it's a centerpiece of your attempt at a logical post?? Good frikin grief man.......

Ya his recruiting was coming up, but Briles built the foundation of his success on those earlier teams with classes that barely cracked the Top 50 recruiting rankings.

Yes, but now no Briles and they are basically starting from scratch with great facilities and stadium.
