At this point I’m not against it.
the RAC is great for noise I guess , but the university also deserves a world class campus arena with appropriate entertainment & luxury spaces , well suited for various university & other events , etc.
go ahead and design it for increases noise (and yes we know building code won’t allow for fully replacing the angles we have today)

but at this point , I’m not sure if a proper RAC renovation is feasible or ever going to happen so build a new one if that’s easier to achieve and gets more function

The RAC is only great for noise when it’s full and when the team puts a product on the court worth the investment

the last thing you want is a new arena like penn state and Minnesota that is 1/2 full and sounds like a cemetery

make a full fledged investment in a sound competitive on court product that is sustainable to justify a new arena

honestly, the RAC has a mickey mouse small time feel to it. like McGonagle Hall at Temple, St John's oncampus gym...other old eastern school gyms...it's not befit for a Big 10 team. Don't build a soulless place, but there must be a happy medium to have a personality but with newer features....

Tear down the RAC. Build a real arena that seats more than 8K. It was built when we were in the A10.

I would kill to have Tom Young back at this point.
It opened my frosh year in 77 when we were Eastern 8. I'll be dead before a new one is built and imay not even be around long enough to see upgrades and a return to the tourney.
What a program.and speaking of which nothing matters until we establish one.

Convert it to a Fieldhouse.

Build a new one.. also upgrade the Hockey Program from a Club level.
Maybe even have a minor league ECHL program as a tenant.

And then we see the Duke gymnasium, with a capacity of 1,000 more than the RAC, beloved and revered by all

Their gym had been renovated several times since opening in 1940, but capacity not blown out as one would have thought

What stops the critics insulting their place, and could we renovate ours in a similar way since theirs is,respected

The RAC is a great college gym !

Never lose that small feeling!

Add on to it concessions, bathrooms, suites or boxes but don’t lose the small feeling.

When we are a decent team it’s a huge home court advantage
