I just couldn't let it go. The more and more I think about your dumb post about rankings, something ran across my mind. I really really would like to see things from your point of view, but I can't seem to get my head that far up my Butt!

The rankings are fine to me. UK has opportunities over the next month and then the Kansas game in January.

I agree to a certain extent. I think we beat Louisville for sure. Kansas and unc two that would be huge wins. Beat 2 out of 3 and i think it we qualify us for a one seed for sure

Assuming Florida and South Carolina don't pose a thread in SEC play - they look decent so far, but time will tell!

Judging teams based on one game is extremely poor.

To jump from 11 before the game to 2 is silly. And it's the reason why polls consistently get it wrong throughout the season. It's the reason why pre season rankings are more predictive of tournament success compared to end of year rankings.

I'm not saying UCLA isn't a great team. But they aren't the 2nd best team in the nation.

No, not exactly. If we were in a real basketball conference then I could agree with you. But since we are in the SEC that only cares about football, it is more difficult for us to climb up the polls significantly once we get into January, because we are seen as simply beating inferior competition. And a good ranking is important to getting a good seed in March. So we need to stay within the top 10 to 15 to be able to get a 2 seed, or the top 10 to be able to move up into a 1 seed.

If we take more then 1 more OOC loss you can forget about a #1 seed. The SEC just doesn't offer enough potential quality wins to make up the lost ground and build a resume.

the whole seeding thing is blah blah blah.

Location and conference limitation will always have us in the same bracket as Indiana, UL/UNC/Duke, and our other usual competition.

I don't really care as long as this team keeps growing. I wished that MSU and Arizona State was better, that would have made our team much more prepared. We have been killing people wayyyy too easily, that can't be good for growth.

That's what I think. Honestly except for the first game, I don't see even the overall #1 seed helping that much as the next game is usually a very tough 8-9 team. Make the dance and go from there is where I am now, as they screw us no matter where we land. They will always throw IU in our path and you can bet this year, UCLA will be an early game to set up a rematch...win and move on.
