How about first weekend of the CFB season is a set game. Higher rank team is the home team.
Based on the previous years rankings

1 plays 5
2 plays 6
3 plays 7
4 plays 8
9 plays 10
So on and so forth all CFB teams play down do 111 playing 112

then you play your two Non conference and then conference schedule

if OSU finishes 4th and Michigan finishes 8th OSU would play 9 and Michigan would play 10 so on a so forth

the first week of the season would be so fun

Bama v Michigan
Cincy v ole miss
Baylor v Oregon
Okla vs MSU
BYU vs AM
UTSA v utah
Iowa v houston
Whiskey v pitt

uL v nc state
Arkansas vs Clemmy
Miss state v PSU
App state v Kentucky

you could do them as home teams or you could play them in NFL stadiums or MLB stadiums.
