everyone wins games on the road except us, 1 of our wins is against a D2 team, we beat SHU without Powell and Mamu, and Illinois without Ayo

Just saying what the committee might say

We beat SHU WITH Powell. We were up 17-0 or the like when he was in. He left later on.

We also beat PSU going away.

what about a couple close road losses WITHOUT Geo? (Our best player)

The committee doesn’t look at things like what time Powell went out and who didn’t play in what game because guys get hurt throughout the year . We win without geo and lost by 3 to a top 30 team in Illinois on the road . Despite not winning on the road , our metrics are still very good

Why did you bring up road wins then list two home wins?

Yea ....and loss at Illinois by only 3 pts without Geo, and at Maryland by 5 pts without
Young(probably our best defender on Cowan). maybe we could have win 1 or both of
these games.

So if the Committee can't see it both then they are not being fair.

Wow. I feel bad for you if you live your life this way. Have a little perspective: it’s a GAME.

And we lost at Illinois by five without Geo, and by six at MD without Young who would have made a difference. Powell also played the first half against us when we went up 17-0. Right after the game with us SHU beat MD without Powell playing at all. We were beating SHU that day by double digits even if they were at full strength.

was just sparking some discussion cubuffdoug... i don't think its an unfair criticism, and im loving this bubble ride.

having lived through 1998-99, 2000-01, and 2002-03 bubble burst, all those teams were victims of road records...granted those teams couldn't compete on the road. and this team has been close...but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades

the committee has never taken a team with less than 3 road wins in the past 25 years. It's definitely in the back of my mind and if its not you aren't paying attention or sipping too much of this boards kool-aid.

keep chopping, win tonight, and win a road game and this would sort itself out, win only two home games and lose in the first round of B1G tourney against Indiana in a virtual home game and we are still vulnerable

Just sparking some discussion? There have been countless threads on this topic already.

I'm still nervous as well, although definitely more excited after the way we played against Illinois. The "19 wins and we're in" thing you see from some posters on this board is false and so is the idea that our road record isn't a serious potential problem. That said, 20 wins probably gets us in and 21 most certainly does. Both numbers will be tough to achieve but I also believe we have a much better shot after beating Illinois. Go RU!

Since I keep seeing all these threads and posts on why we may not make the tournament, here is my take. Our current record is 18-8. One of the wins is Caldwell which shouldn't count. 17-8. We beat Seton Hall and Illinois without their best players. Would have lost otherwise. 15-10. Basketball experts say RAC is worth 10 points. Since we are only winning at home, all those wins by less than 10 points are actually loses. 8 home wins less than 10 points so real record is 7-18 and not tournament worthy.

We need a thumbs down button for this post.

We all have some level of battered fan syndrome after years of abuse. As hard as it is to believe, there is no negative Rutgers bias in the selection process.
