He's human like the rest of us. But for some reason many expect that our RU college athletes should perform like they are robots or in video games.
Sorry, that’s how fans are. Win, they love you. Lose, you know how it goes.

I disagree.......

Prior to the season many were labelling him as too slow to even bring the ball up the court and not good enough of a point guard at the BIG level.

During RU's early season woes many were calling for him to be benched because they felt he sucked.

During RU's ranked win streak he was hailed like a conquering hero .....think he even won the favorite player poll on this board.

During the recent losing streak many started to again question his effectiveness.

After last nights game some RU fans are now calling for his suspension, a mental case who needs counseling, a hot head whiny complaining flopper, a guy who can dish it out but not take it and worse.

This is all in the span of a season. I support the kid, you want guys like him on your team.
Yeah.. what you are seeing are a class of people who came out early as Mulcahy-disparagers.. that number is buoyed by the class of fans who are not fans at all.. just Rutgers-haters who will amplify anything negative said on these board in complete agreement.

THOSE people were happy to jump on Paul when he was named a starter. Then when he shot too much and the ball refused to roll in (weak-*** junk he was putting up then).

THEN.. those people were made to STFU by Paul's mid-season play.

And not, THOSE PEOPLE are back again.

And, yes, THOSE people treat Paul differently than many players... but, really, for every fan who doubts a player.. there will be the haters joining in that chorus.

All the players have SUCKED according to the haters at some point this season... bench players were hailed as should-be starters... whatever it took to spread the negativity... THOSE "FANS" were up for it.

And, yes, Paul gets it worse than anyone... but his acting for foul calls.. that is not attractive behavior so he has made it easier on the haters of late.

Last season, I said I liked Paul's 3-point shooting form and that he should take more. A long-time ACTUAL FAN disparaged my remark.. called it awful.. and Paul ended the season as our second-best 3-point shooter.. which he happened to also be the prior season, iirc (among those who took more than a few).

And that was NOT a Paul-hater.

People just see him differently for some reason.
