I just went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out where "Tremont at Bull Mountain Bottom" is located. Needless to say, if that ain't country...

We used to kill 5-6 a year in Tremont at Bull Mountain Bottom. Yes you can eat them, just don't over cook or its like eating rope.

I live about 5 min up above those hills, I bet I know your uncle. If it’s him I had a pic of an Eastern Diamondback he killed down there several years ago but I must have deleted it. I can’t remember the number of rattles but it was as big around as somewhere between a baseball and a softball and was so long that laying across the tailgate of his pickup and the head was hanging 6-8” inches off one end and the tail was hanging 6-8” of the other side.

Bad boy. I wish I had the picture of one a guy in our hunting club in Tippah killed a few years back. It was an eastern diamondback, it was laying across the tailgate like that but it’s head was hanging off 6-8” on one end and rattles were hanging off 6-8” off the other side. Snakes don’t bother me as long as I can see them but I believe I’d vacate the foodplot for an hour or so until he was finished using it. Just a reminder that some days I’d like to have my rib back.

Russ Wheeler:

It was crossing my gravel drive headed into my front yard. It just came out of a wooded area. I had just got on my tractor to do some bush hogging and I happened to see it about 30yards out in front of me. I thought it was kingsnake I see regularly in that area but noticed it wasn't near as big.

Killed a large very large copperhead over the weekend too. This one was just shy of 4', I was working on a shed and he was almost under my ladder when I stepped down.

Damn man. I think I’d move. That king snake is supposed to be running those bastards off. I freaking hate copperheads, so hard to see. And if he was 4’ they don’t get much bigger than that.

Some of my Uncle, Dad, and I favorite bream and fly rod grounds many moons ago. Fished for bass and walleye down those streams all the way thru to Smithville Lake.

Might be a Desoto Rattler. Could be a Tunica Rattler. Hard to say. Which way was he headed?

OK. I vote for Timber Rattler. Best thing (IMO) is he is dead.

A swarm of tracker jacking Murder hornets should be able to finish him off.
