I want to build a wood table to set things on. Mostly it will only be a radio or empty cardboard boxes, but it could be something like an unusually large cat or a bag of jelly beans, so it needs to be versatile. Theoretically it could actually hold up the weight of my failures.

Any recommendations on what wood I should use? Best brands of tools? I might want internal combustion cooling so I don't want it to overheat. Lacquer or polyurethane? I'm overwhelmed right now.

I highly recommend that you go with at least four legs and that they reach all the way to the floor. You can thank me later.

Save up about 1000 dollars for some high quality mahogany as well as some purpleheart for inlays. You will also want some good tools. Milwaukee or Makita.

Once you have the cash, go to goodwill and get yourself a ten dollar table. Take the 990 dollars you have left and visit the “ if you could buy one stock thread”.

Since you wont really actually buy stock, stock up on two ply toilet paper and good bourbon for corona wave 2.

Agree to disagree. Two ply isnt worth the investment.

The best tables were previously in the employ of quality downtown restaurants.
