I see where Richmond beat Morehead. Can anyone provide a projection as to who to watch and points of concern for our game Sunday?

They are very good. They have a great big man named Golden (6’10). Most of their starters back. Picked to win the A-10. Lost one of their best players to a torn ACL before the season started, but still an excellent early test. Wouldn’t be shocked if they beat us this early. Very experienced team.

Hope this helps a little.

Hopefully someone else can add to this.

6.5 is a very good bet. Think it is around that late, but UK will get some free throws late and win by around 10.

Little 5-9 PG led national in steals.
Jacob Gilyard is a two-way threat. On offense, he is a 1,000-point scorer in his college career (1,276 points after Friday’s 82-64 victory over Morehead State) and ranked 10th nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio last season. On defense, he led the nation in steals (3.19 per game, on average).

Crispen brothers 2.0, with Pistol Pete thrown in for good measure. Things look bad for the Cats......... but Terrence Clarke Kent ducks into a phone booth and emerges to save the day. Davion makes Mintz meat out of the Spiders. Cal's constant yelling screws up their spider sense and their web shooters get clogged up

Spider fan here. The Spiders have 4 very good starters, each of whom can score more 20 points on any given night. Three of these 4 are already 1,000 point scorers. Our backcourt is a strength. Gilyard is on track to be the NCAA all time steals leader, expect him to have at least 5 steals. Blake Francis is probably our best player. Francis is a very tough, but smallish player. In January, he suffered a broken sternum. He was back by mid February. Grant Golden, our center, is a force inside. He has several patented inside moves, which lead to scores. Look for him to be substituted in and out about every 5 minutes or so. If he is covered he passes to Nate Cayo, who scores. Cayo is 200 points shy of 1,000 points. His game has really improved this season. He is the most improved and his game has exploded. The last of our starting 5 is Tyler Burton, who is probably the most likely a pro prospect. He is athletic and is a very good rebounder. He has yet to find his scoring touch, he replaced our leader Nick Sherrod, who tore his ACL. This is probably the best Richmond team. They are talented, experienced and unheralded. Expect a fight.

I agree. I respect your team and think UK will have to show up to win this game. In saying that or length will give your guys some issues and we will win this by 10 or 12 points imo. Richmond is a top 25 team in my book.

Tall and physical teams are the ones we struggle with the most. We will counter that with steals, assists, screens, and back door cuts. Gilyard is a master. His assist to turnovers is very strong. That is the hallmark of Coach Mooneys teams.

I would feel a lot better about the outcome if Jackson wasn't slowed up. However, I would rather take my chances today, and have him 100% on Tuesday. I still think the Cats come out on top, pretty close to the spread. Maybe 8 pts.

Coach Calipari has always said he prefers talent over experience. The question is whether your talent and athleticism can outperform our tested experience.

Good game today. You guys came out in the 2nd half and punched us in the mouth. I still feel good about the Cats this year but you were by far the better team today. Congrats!

The game plan was to force turnovers and grab as many steals as possible. And turn those into points.
