Will be tough to replace Mast and Tominaga. Brice is going to have to carry this team. Essegian could be a good one.
Every team needs the ring leader, and Brice is ours. I saw too much dribbling for my liking, but Worster did a lot of good things. Definitely more of an all around player than Ulis. Morgan had quite a few moment. Berke is like Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde. If we want to win some big games we are going to need WAY more of of him. Meah missed two dunks and struggles tonight against a really small team. Essegian is going to be our go to 3 pt shooter.

We are big team this year, going to be a match up nigjtmare for a few teams. If I had to pick a starting 5

1 - Worster
2 - Williams
3 - Gary
4 - Berke
5 - Morgan

Essegian gets starter minutes and then Meah, Ulis and Griffith get the rest of the minutes while Sam Hoiberg comes in for defensive a spark if there is foul trouble.

I see one dude picked us 16th in the B1G. Now that is seriously terrible if it happens. 16th! Who knew that was even possible.
Saturday tradition B1G power rankings to start the season has Hoiskers 13th..

I like your lineup. It seems like he wants Meah to start at the 5 but I bet that doesn't last. Berke is definitely the type of big man that Hoiberg likes ie like Rienk. Maybe even more skilled but we'll see. I read somewhere that Griffeth might not even play much this year but I think he'll play a lot. No doubt we are deeper this year and there will be talented guys struggling to get minutes.

Only up by 5 at half against Bethune-Cookman. Shooting 25% from the field and 11 turnovers.

Woof. This team has a LONG way to go. Just no flow or shooting at all.

Was there. Very hard to watch. The parts don’t fit together yet. Hopefully they eventually do.

So far this team looks very slow, doesn't shoot the ball well, and doesn't take care of the ball. Could be a rough season.

Lots of teams are struggling to start the year. I think with nil and transfer portal, you’ll see programs with continuity thrive early in the year as teams made of transfers take time to settle in and build familiarity. Could make for interesting conference and ncaa tournaments as the best teams at the end of the year could be very different than the start.

Right now I'm hoping the women's bball team gives me my optimistic Husker fix this winter. They seem to have a good mix of ballers on the team.

I’m wondering if we won’t see the same kind of unpredictability in college basketball that we’re seeing in football. All of the transferring really mixes up the deck. We lost several high effort older chemistry guys who will be hard to replace.

I think we’re going to have to be patient and see how this comes together. Hopefully things look better by conference play. The key for now is to win the early games we should win.

I really think NIL could affect quality of play and player development as a whole. Tom brady has been talking about this and how he feels rookie qb’s will be less and less nfl ready as we see the top talent play for multiple programs instead of work within a program and develop under consistent tutelage. I hope he’s wrong but I do think all the transfers will result in lower quality of play across college sports.

The counter argument on QB play would be that playing in multiple systems will get QBs more ready for the NFL. The zone read look at the sideline systems have already forced NFL OC’s to dumb things down for young QBs. I think the bigger effect on college football is from guys who were sitting on the bench now getting to play at other schools creating more parity.

I still love the college game but it definitely has changed. Man I wish we had a veteran Tommy Armstrong to run our team. I knew starting a freshman QB was going to cost us a game or two but didn’t anticipate Satt throwing him to the wolves. We need to be 65-70% run instead of the 50%. Early in games we’ve been more like 80% pass. Stupid.

I watched first 10 mins. and saw Hoiberg make 15-20 player substitutions. Went & watched The First 48 on A&E so I could count on some consistency: The killer has tattoos.

I think Fred is trying to find out who can deliver consistently other than Gary. I’m hoping the three point shooting improves and it should given some of the historical numbers for some of the new guys. Getting used to the sight lines in PBA with a crowd in the house probably will help. I gotta get down to some games this year.

You must sit close behind the bench if you're on a first name basis with Coach.

Threes have to start dropping soon. These guys are too good to be shooting that poorly in games. Saw glimpses of Esegian and Griffiths last night plus the big guy from Turkey made one. Need to build confidence and keep shooting.

Thought the team looked better in spurts last night. Still too many bunny misses and 3 misses.

PG's have been a bit disappointing to me. One doesn't distribute enough and one is absolutely no threat to shoot. Without Mast's abilities this season you need a good distributer imo.

Hoiberg completely struck out with his transfer haul and high school recruiting. Blew an opportunity to build on tournament momentum. Going 500 this year is our ceiling.
