Ummm coaching in the NBA is a little different than college ball. We'll be okay. This game was a stinker but it won't look like that every night. It will all depend on how they shoot on any given night. A big man in the middle would help us immensely as well. I don't know if Walker is that guy or not.

Quit being a fan and leave the board.. U don’t judge a program in the 5 game of the season of course you never played Basketball so what would you know about hoops.
We will most likely get Andre back by B1G play at the latest. I've heard good things about Derrick and he's for sure a step up compared to Yvan. But when teams in our league have guys like Garza I'm not sure it's gonna matter.
I do judge, and I have. I don't need to play college basketball to know this team, like every team before them, sucks.
we have a better chance of winning the B1G in football than making a tourney run this year.

Where's the guy who was on here earlier saying our lineup was going to be so tough to match up to? Meh. Make shots. Play good D. Rebound. From the little bit I watched and then listened to, we didn't do any of that.

I think this is going to be a team that gives us wild swings in how they play. If they're hot from 3 and jacked up, they'll win some games. If they come out flat like they did tonight, they'll lose.
Compared to last year we do all of those things better. So we are improved from disastrous to bad.
that’s not winning basketball. If you need your A game to win. Good teams win with their C game. We need it all to go well to have a chance

I try to not get too jacked up about performances from game to game. This was a weird game from start. We had trouble guarding their quick guards and we don't have an eraser in the paint. It's early and we won't be that cold from outside every game this year. IF you're set up as a perimeter shooting team, like NU is, then you have to be able to knock down contested 3s.
Finish in the top 8 or 9? They will be battling for 13th place. This is not a bad team. Calling them bad would be compliment.
They play like I play.. just bomb a bunch of threes and play pisspoor defense.
How many top 100 players are there at each position for this team? I never thought the talent was all that good last year, so no matter how good Fred is, this year is just going to be so-so. Two years from now it might be a better situation.
Defense wasn’t piss poor the whole night..The offense was more of the stinker..
this team is completely different from last year there’s only two contributors that are on the team this year the rest are all new.
Right now the B1G has 8 top 25 teams according to KenPom
Then you've got Purdue, Maryland, Minnesota, ranked in the top 50.
and Penn State and Northwestern in the top 65.
We're currently ranked 113th. I think if we finish 10th or 11th it'll be a great year.
So in a few years, UNL might be sporting a better team, right? For now, not so much.
I don't understand the fascination with Teddy ... unless he can back down a smaller guard, his offense is non-existent. He can't hit a 3 to save his life.

Not having to play the first 2 games the day of the B1G tournament finishing some where from 8-10 would be a huge sign of the progress this program for Hoieberg’s 2 season..
Sometimes when I come on this board I get the impression that NU should just end all sports. Everything sucks. Will never get better.
Watch the other big 10 teams. We don’t match up very well at all. Hope I’m wrong. But we are limited.
Throw more money at something. That’s the new NU way. Hard work? Nah. Throw some money at it and try to pretend to put the players interests first.
Hoiberg will get them there. It certainly won’t be this year, but within the next two seasons he should have Nebraska dancing.
Well it's what we are. Fred had to try to recruit some guys ASAP who can play and he did that. Ideally IF you're going to try to win with your C game, you had better have some big guys who can play in the paint and we don't right now.
There's a good nucleus to start from, a few years down the road, and maybe by the second half of next season, we might see this team start to gel into something good.
I give Fred a pass last year. And this year we are what we are. I was 1000 percent sure Fred would be super successful. I still believe it’s going to happen but like Frost doubt is starting to creep in. Just because basketball is easier to flip since you need just a few players where in football you need 40.
And no question that he knows this as well.. He needs to find a couple of players that can post down low and can be interchangeable between the two so we can keep the other 4 around the perimeter.

Frenchie is the only post player we've got on this team so any inside game is almost going to have to be off of cuts to the bucket. The little bit I watched we seemed to crash the offensive boards pretty hard but rarely came out with a rebound. THAT is where the big *** comes in handy in the paint. We've got a bunch of pretty skinny guys other than Small Hands Frenchie.
Agreed. He got hot the last two games, thus the scoring.
He thinks he's a James Harden or Carmelo Anthony. Looks look a pickup ball player that everyone does not like to play with, continually asking for the ball, taking bad shots, but then tries to overpower everyone to get points. But if he gets hot it's OK because the team gets to stay on the court.

I don't disagree with that at all. We'll see. I do know one thing and that is if we can't hit 3s we're probably screwed. We HAVE to either play up tempo and get in to run and gun mode where we can get fast break points or we have to be able to drill 3s in the half court. IF you don't have multiple guys knocking down 3s, you better have a couple of bigs who can score inside, get to the foul line and rebound.
