I turned the game off at halftime when we were down 4 to watch the WSU/ISU game. I just went and looked it up. Down 6 going into the 4th and outscored then 33-13. Nice!Hell of a 4th quarter by the NU women.
Keep us updated. Can't find it on the radioGood game with Ohio State going on right now on BTN. Huskers struggled early but rallied to take a 38-36 lead at the half.
Outscored them 27-16.Another tremendous 4th quarter. Nicely done ladies.
We're getting some good minutes from freshman. Glad and surprised we are so strong in the fourth. We have some big girls. Good job. GBR
Depth. I like itYea I don't get the head coach. She doesn't start two of her best players. Sam the point guard is easily the best guard on the team. Been saying it since the 1st game and she still isn't starting yet is the team's leading scorer. Leigha is another, she had a career high 19 coming off the bench yet again. To the HCs credit Sam probably gets starter minutes and is usually in at crunch time yet that proves my point.
Interesting story I hadn't heard is that Sam was a pitcher on a boys baseball team. She also played some hockey although I don't know at what level. She is a smooth bball player.
My 5 is:
Sam
Leigha
Nicea
Taylor
Kate
They're playing at least 4 freshmen a lot of minutes. That's probably part of it. A couple of their veterans have struggled with their shooting early this year from the perimeter. I haven't gotten to see any of their games and have only caught a couple of them on the radio. My impression yesterday was that we just couldn't make a shot early then things started falling and our depth wore OSU down in the 4th quarter. What the hell happened to this team in the non con? Did they incur some injuries or something?
It's not about who starts. It's about putting the best combinations on the floor at any one time. When you're playing young players that is especially important. Amy always seems to get the best out of her players.Yea I don't get the head coach. She doesn't start two of her best players. Sam the point guard is easily the best guard on the team. One of those starters who was a big part of missing 14 of their first 15 shots is our best player and historically our best offensive weapon. It happens. You will also note that after that stretch we were still right there in the game. Why was that? Scoring from the field is less than half the game chief. They had 2 points after what 8 mins of the 1st Qtr. They missed 14 of their first 15 shots. It's crazy to say it doesn't matter who starts. Does Miles start his best 5? Of course he does.
