Rushing yards per game offense: Michigan 255 (7th nationally), Nebraska 218 (15th nationally)

Rushing yards per game allowed: Michigan 114 (33rd nationally), 120.8 (36 nationally)

also, mich averages 29.6 ppg vs P5 opponents

I'm not sure how deep into your *** you dig for these stats, but they're all kinds of wrong (as usual)

if you're trying to do overall ppg, you're also wrong - NU averages 32.3

either way, I'm not sure what you're trying to compare with apples vs oranges stats. delete your account, minnesota fan

Your Iowa posting when they were playing Maryland was one of an alcoholic problem. You aren't worth my time.
your posts aren't worth anybody's time, minnesota fan

get your stats straight before posting them. or, better yet, don't post them at all!

michigan scored 20 points (zero in the 2nd half) against rutgers, yet our D has no chance to slow them down. makes sense!

What's the passing yards comparison?
I think we have a more well balanced attack because we have a better QB. Their strength is their run game but our strength on defense is against the run. We also have a QB who can gash the defense with his legs, they don't.
We have a good chance of winning this game if we don't lose the turnover battle and can move the ball in the air.

I believe Michigan has Zero TO's this year...Is that correct?

5-0 and no turnovers is pretty darn impressive. New set of assistants are putting Michigan is a better position to compete.

On the flip side, Nebraska looks like the 2nd best B1G West team right now.

Of course, Minnesota pulled out a nice win at Purdue, and they have the best and worst loss of any of these teams in 2021.

Michigan at Nebraska in prime time. Huge opportunity for a Scott Frost team.

Is Nebraska legit in 2021, or simply the next Maryland in the Big Ten?

Got say that UofM has pretty much played patsies so far, first 4 games at home, so their stats are misleading. You guys played toughies in Oklahoma and MSU, U of M hasn’t played anyone in that league. Of course, as a MSU alum, I hate UofM, but the rational me thinks you’ll take them be at least a touchdown.

At least, that’s what I’m rooting for. Go Huskers.

I also think Frost is a really good coach and will, in time, get Nebraska playing the kind of ball you want.

Nebraska absolutely must get pressure on Michigan's QB, early and often, along with playing sound in all three phases as they did against Northwestern.

Only if Martinez has time. That’s the key to the game, IMO. Michigan will need to get pressure on him, otherwise Nebraska has a chance.

Michigan has 13 sacks on the year through 5 games. Nebraska has 11 through 6. Conversely, Michigan has only allowed one sack so far.

Sagarin rates Michigan's schedule so far as the 21st toughest. Michigan State's as the 73rd toughest. Nebraska's as the 56th toughest. http://sagarin.com/sports/cfsend.htm

Is Nebraska's revamped O line as good as Wisconsin's current O line?
What indicators are there that Nebraska can run the ball on Michigan aside from a single performance against NW? Can Yant get those hard yards and keep moving the sticks?
Michigan will aggressively attack our line from multiple directions including all out blitzes. We have not indicated the ability to handle this pressure to date aside from a fairly noncombative Northwestern D.
Nebraska has not shown the ability to get consistent pressure without blitz packages. They will need to get in the face of the Michigan QB without sacrificing coverage in the back end.
Teams continue to attack the sidelines with the passing game. NW tried to make a living out there and managed well at times but had some drops that hurt them.
Nebraska bottled up Walker but allowed the NW running back to bounce off multiple tackles. That needs to improve with better technique and gang tackling.
Overall, I don't like this matchup (my opinion of course). Michigan is a in your grill, beat me if you can type team that runs and throws well enough to win games and put up points. They hammer hard on both sides of ball and don't make huge mistakes, especially on the offense.

Going hit for hit will be key, we are not huge in the LB area and our safeties will be tested in the run game. If our D stays on the field too long, it will be a bad sign. Long sustained drives my Michigan will both wear our D down and possibly force our O into doing things it doesn't want or can't do. If we can handle their pressure with some screens and quick throws to slow the blitz, it will help to open the running game. I look for our TE's to have big games.

And Nebraska finally figured out a great combination of backs to use. Yant is a damn stud. With him and Johnson its going to be tough to stop as long as the line does their job. But then again Stepp and Morrison may practice better this week and they may be the main guys with how smart our coaching staff is. Wait...is smart the word Im looking for?

Michigan has the more talented team. But Nebraska has shown that it too can hang with the big boys this year. Night game at home. It will ALL boil down to our offensive line and not making dumb as **** mistakes. I think, sadly, that Martinez will get sacked a lot in this game. I hope to God I am wrong since I do not want him to get injured. My gut says this is a Michigan win. But we are definitely good enough to pull off the win. Going to be fun to watch.

Is Michigan the more talented team? I kind of thing we are pretty equal. If you went off the star ranking, than yes, they are, but outside of that, I feel like we are pretty comparable.

QB - I like their QB, but think we have the edge here when good Adrian shows up.
RB - They probably have a slight edge here, but still close. Just solid backs with no real name recognition
TE - I think we have the edge
WR - Right now I think we have the edge because they've had some injury, but still close
OL - They have the edge

DL/OLB - The groups are pretty equal. They probably have a little more star power on the edges, but both are stout.
LB - I think we have better LB's. Reimer & Heinrich are playing real
S - I think they have the edge, but pretty close
CB - I think we have the edge here & secondary as an entire unit we have the edge.

Special Teams - Favors them

I think this is a pretty damn good matchup.

I like your breakdown. Unfortunately, the two areas you list as a Michigan edge that bother me are offensive line and special teams. If our offensive line has huge issues against Michigan we will lose for sure.

Opposing view:

QB - equal passing, but Martinez gets the edge with his running
RB - edge Michigan (spreads running yardage between three starters)
TE - edge Nebraska
WR - even
OL- big edge Michigan

DL/OLB - edge Michigan
LB - even (Ross is outstanding)
S - edge Michigan (Dax Hill is an AA)
CB - edge Nebraska

Special Teams - HUGE edge to Michigan

For Nebraska defensively, I believe the Michigan game is going to be very similar to the Michigan St game. The Michigan run game has a couple of dudes where Michigan St really relies on the one. I believe the Mich St QB is a little better and they throw the ball more than Michigan will.

On the surface it looks like Michigan St has more big play potential, 76 plays of 10 yards or more compared to 59 for Michigan. But when you look deeper, only 30 of those plays have gone for 20+ where Michigan has 24 such plays and Michigan actually has more plays of 30 or more yards (15-13).

For Nebraska offensively, Michigan is a better team than Michigan St on defense. They have limited opponents to only 14 plays of 20 or more yards, so Nebraska is able to buck that trend, they are going to have to sustain drives. Which is why I think it will be a low scoring game.

I agree. Special Teams is the Achilles. Just be average there and we are alright. Same with OL. They don't have to be awesome, but just be average and limit the mistakes gives us a chance.

FPI efficiency rankings (Offense, Defense, Special Teams) of 130 teams
Michigan (5, 14, 1)
Nebraska (27, 16, 128)

Gonna have to do more than not screw up on special teams, likely. Can we make FGs and PATs? Cover punts? Catch AND return punts? We're likely gonna have to make plays on ST and/or force TOs on defense to win. Michigan doesn't turn the ball over. They don't mess up on STs.

In short, it will take Nebraska's best game in years to win. Are we capable? Yes, especially at home in front of the most revved up crowd since thunder and lightning beat Nebraska in the 2018 opener.

Other than special teams, the one thing that gives me pause is that Nebraska lacks a great pass rusher, it seems when Nebraska rushes just 3 or 4 they never get home and are susceptible to big pass plays. Bend don’t break I hope.
