After a very rough start to fall behind by 10 with some unconscious Nebraska shooting the Hawks outscore them by 20 the rest of the way. Great bounce back game for Hannah going 7-7 from the line with 10 rebounds. She and Ava were a combined 15 for 21 from the field. For the second straight game Ava was unstoppable going 8-10. Wright was absolutely terrific with 24 points. Stremlow with 8 assists against only 2 turnovers. Overall an excellent game with a lot of contributors.

After looking over the box score, Jan really shortened the bench today and it was needed.

Hannah was great inside. 21 & 10 and 7/7 FTs

Chit Chat ran the show calmly for 24 & 3 and 11/12 FTs

Ava has a nice game with 18 & 7.

both McCabe and Stremlow had really good moments as well

Only six points from the Iowa bench today. Hays had a couple nice buckets. Journey was a bit off today. Deal didn’t do anything.

After being down early, this team fought back and played great defense in the second half.

Crowd was fantastic today, and we got really loud in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

I thought Chit Chat played great today, amd Hannah was finally aggressive to the bucket, and hitting all those free throws was perfect for her today.

Chit Chat was awesome again. Houston with some bad shots but she just finds the ball on rebounds and loose balls. And Hannah hitting free throws like she did today was one of the main keys to this win.

Deal is really struggling with her confidence , just like she passed up that open shot and drove the ball into a double team and a travel. I still think that the 2 minutes in and then out has thrown her for a loop. The games where she's played more she's played much better. Several players had rough stretches. McCabe, Stremlow had a BUNCH of bad passes, even Houston. The difference is they were able to stay on the floor and fight through it, and contribute as the game went on.

I actually agree on THAT call. I'm saying I've seen them review a lot of those calls and they almost never call it flagrant. Its almost a waste of time even reviewing it.

Watch what teams do when HS gets the ball 10-15 feet from the hoop...the girl guarding her backs up and Heiden/Hays get double teamed cause HS can't hit a shot.
That said, HS played with great effort and proved she can hit FTs.

Chit Chat saved the game. Someone earlier said she couldn't guard Prince. But the 2nd half she was on Prince most of the time and I think Prince got worn down disn't shoot too good when she did shoot..
Just checked and Prince was 10/18. I am pretty sure she was 9/11 the first half.

I think Hanna and Ava have a good rhythm finding each other as well on those cuts. They had 7 assists between them and I think most of those were to each other.

CC was amazing in the 2nd half. She was getting abused and swallowed up defensively in the 1st half and JJ made some adjustments on high ball screens to minimize her size disadvantage.

Her size is still an issue defensively but can’t imagine this team without her at PG.

This didn't happen. Stremlow only had 2 turnovers and 8 assists to go along with 3 steals in 35 minutes. McCabe only had 2 turnovers in 35 minutes as well. Deal turned it over pretty much every time she touched the ball. It's unfortunate, but as a coach you put Stremlow and McCabe back in and take Deal out unless winning a close game isn't a priority here.

Great win Stuelke, Ava and Chit were great. Some support from Stremlow and McCabe. Q1 a ton of bad passes and at times after that. Have to clean up the passing/ball handling TOs.

Jan played basically 6 players today and 3 others just to give short rests. This was because fouls were only called 3rd Q. I agree Deal didn’t look her best, agree with others that she needs minutes to get onto flow. Interesting to see Maryland and Michigan lose today, things in the big are going to be fun!

She's not there yet. Chitchat is way better and the best player on the team. Stremlow is also way better, and much more effective today. If Addie wasn't a highly ranked recruit you folks wouldn't be so adamant that she needs more minutes, because her play hasn't warranted it. Jan needs to play the players who are most effective today to win these games. If the day arrives that Deal is in fact the difference maker on the court that everyone wants her to be she'll get more minutes in tight games.

You need to rewatch Deal's minutes. Even assuming poetic license, this is a ridiculous statement.

Deal is still a little too cautious and tentative on the court - she'll get over it. [Emely Rodriguez has the opposite problem]

I did and you're right about everything. She didn’t turn it over every time she touched the ball. In her 6 minutes she threw 2 bad passes and passed up an open three only to dribble directly into traffic for a travel. She wasn't ridiculously bad. She also didn’t do anything to help the team.

Young players do need minutes to get better, but certainly not at the expense of wins. There are players in front of her that have to be on the court for this team to win. She will have to improve this year with limited game minutes and practice time. If she does she'll get more time on the floor. If not she won't.
