Purdue fan here. I come in peace. Looking forward to a good game in Lincoln. Stopped by your board and I was surprised at the negative posts regarding Miles. In truth I haven't followed Neb Basketball all that closely, but I thought Miles had you guys on a good trajectory.

I think some injuries derailed your season, IIRC. The BIG is about as rugged a conference to play in as there is. One small defect, like an injury to a key player, and you quickly can lose a bunch of games because the teams are so good, and the coaching is top notch and will step on your neck if you have any weakness. I know you guys lost to PSU. PSU is a really good team that is just a half step away from being a contending team in the BIG. They gave us all we could handle at Happy Valley, in that gym we call the tomb. They have played everybody that comes in there tough.

We also thought Miles had us on a good trajectory...twice. Both times, NU cratered and their season spiraled out of control in embarrassing fashion. Fool me once....fool me twice....

Enjoy the easy win

The team had lost 5 straight before Copeland went down. Miles lost this squad long ago.

The biggest problem for the team is their lack of depth. Even with Copeland going down, they should have 7 to 8 quality Big Ten level players on their roster.

They have about 5. Tim's brashness and sarcasm rubs some of these college kids the wrong way. All of these players should currently be on this roster:

Michael Jacobson - 6'9 Power Forward averaging 15 ppg at Iowa State

Ed Morrow - 6'7 Forward was averaging about 20 minutes per game with Marquette before reinjuring a foot.

Jordy Tshimanga - 7'0 foot Center who is sitting out this season at Dayton

Jeriah Horne 6'7 Wing who's averaging 10 PPG at Tulsa

The Huskers easily make the NCAA tourney last year with those 4 on the roster, and they would've competed for the Big Ten title this season.

We'll be living vicariously as fans of Purdue and other BIG teams in March......again. Good luck in the dance.

It will be interesting to see if the game is played with a blizzard warning Saturday.

Pulling for HC Tim Miles and company to win this game, a very winnable game for Nebraska at PBA. If Kent doesn’t refer to someone as King Kong today this can have a happy ending in Lincoln.

While I agree with Kugler that NU would probably need to win the Big Ten tournament to get an NCAA bid, it’s amusing to compare that with last night’s broadcast. Andy Katz spent the entire night squealing about how Indiana still has a path to the tourney, despite winning one freaking game in the past 7 weeks.

But the Hoosiers have actually beaten some quality teams and Nebraska hasn’t any as of now..

And yet IU has a NET ranking of 54 and an RPI of 96, and lost to Nebraska at home. Again I'm not arguing in any way, shape or form that Nebraska belongs in the tournament, because they don't. But NU's meltdown is not as bad as the shitshow Indiana has put on the court the past two months.

It was a moronic statement no matter how you look at it. EVERY team in college basketball has a path to the tournament.

The Big Ten should probably rename that opening round The Greatest Shitshow on Earth. The games tend to be pretty painful.
