With two winnable games lost and in the books. Can we knock of the Badgers away or the Hawks at home?

It would absolutely suck if we lose last four games and not make a bowl… would feel very frost-like

Which begs the question in hindsight why did they even fire Frost or Riley. I don’t see where it’s unreasonable for Trev to implore Rhule to make staff changes if a bowl bid is not secured.

A reason why Rhule needs to avoid this scenario, find a way another couple of games, and help build some momentum for next year - the program and fan base really need it. Maybe he should contact Fred Biletnikoff and see if he still has any of the stick-em goo he used to use to hold onto the ball - the guy could catch balls with his elbow with that stuff.

The last 2 are winnable as well. Just need 1.
Which one? The Hawks are looking better on offense and of course their defense is always solid, and Wisky at home is not a good bet for us. With our current qb play I don't see how we can win either of these games.

So your argument is why make a bunch of changes and when has that worked out here? And then you follow that up with suggesting that the AD try to force more changes to be made.

Crazy thing, considering the final two games, the game at wisky is more winnable. We ain’t scoring against herky. Wisky sucks and they don’t score much too. But I don’t see it happening. Our offense is so inept. I’ve never seen it this bad in all my years.

Why did they fire Frost? Well he went 16-31 and would have had 5 straight losing seasons. He was treated more fairly and had the most justifiable firing of any P5 coach maybe in history with his poor on field results.

This is year 1 of cleaning up his mess. Obviously the last two games sucked, but it is way too early to force major changes on the HC.

Yes, that's exactly what we need to prevent turnovers.

Stress will be too much for these coaches. They already botched 3 easy games already. I voted no.

Rhule is light years ahead of frost when it comes to operating a FB program. Riley is to far gone for that discussion. We don't need to make any staff changes at this point. I think the proof is in the pudding that changing staff over and over doesn't work.

So the Herky’s finally have one game with over 300 yards and your anointing them as a better offense?

Still last in the country in total offense and both of us can’t even manage 19 points a game in scoring offense..

Well isn't that better than they have been? They don't need to be a juggernaut to beat a team that can barely score 14 pts a game.

I also don't think Rhule needs to be told to do anything, he has made staff changes before at his previous stops.

Wholesale changes don't always work, but strategic ones do. The best example is last year's defense. When Chinander was fired and Bill Busch was promoted to DC, the defense improved dramatically.

Theres truth in this for sure. I just think a one year snapshot is not enough data to know if a change at OC is warranted or not. If, Like Chenander, we are bad after year 2 or 3 then go for it. Think how
smart Satterfield would look if we had a qb that could execute a basic HS level pass. Not to say Im happy with his playcalling but players can make coordinators look pretty damn good.

Coin flip. They are both every bit the clusterfvck we are.

That and also a competent OL. That being said, I do believe there's enough body of evidence to cut Raiola loose after this season.

He's had multiple years and the results have been the same.
He had one year under frost, you're really gonna put that on him? This is his first year with rule and he's had as many injuries to deal with as the rest of the offense and yet his group has been improving.

Point is if they finish 5-7 Rhule is no better than the two previous clowns. You are what your record says.

I mostly disagree with this narrative. It’s not year 1 for fans, it’s year 7 for fans. Was I expecting a 10 win season year one? No. But was expecting a 6 win bowl season.

Is it unfair to Rhule that anything less than a bowl game is bad for the program and disappointing to fans? Hell no it’s not unfair

And to say “light years above frost” is also somewhat gaslighting or at least yet to be seen. Obviously we know how frost turned out. But You have to match apples to apples. Match how you felt at the end of 2018 about frost not how you feel about him now. At the end of 2018 we really thought Frost was doing well. He finished the year 4-2 with impressive play @ Ohio state. We also finished with a top 15 recruiting class and all seemed much like it was moving in the right direction. Again, looking at it at that time not as of today.

Morale around the program was higher then. Anyone who is honest will admit to that. Otherwise it’s gaslighting and you can’t argue with people that aren’t truthful. There’s always excuses for year 1 coaches. Rhule needs to get it done this season or he will lose equity for 2024.

And to say no staff moves would be crazy. Maybe not wholesale. Maybe not Satterfield but I would think at minimum they need to move Martin. TE have been very underwhelming and should have been a strength. Plus Martin landed the job as a replacement. Would love for them to bring in a big time WR coach and move the extremely inexperienced McGuire to TE. That’s a spot one can cut their teeth at a little better especially with all the staff that has experience coaching TE. No one on the current staff has the experience with WRs. Satterfield had a little a long long time ago, but not much. We need a strong WR coach. Can’t blame youth at the position and ignore inexperience at coaching.

I actually think we can get a win in Madison this weekend. I don’t think we have a shot at Iowa unless they lay a serious egg defensively.

When comparing 2 of the worst offenses in all of football, using the term "better" to describe either one seems inappropriate. The Nebraska offense played worse than Iowa's offense last week. That's about as specific as one can get.

this season, Nebraska has scored 189 points and iowa has scored 188

I don't think there's any question which has been better.

No, it's year one for fans.

If Allen doesn't play for Wisconsin you should be able to win that game. Iowa is at home which always helps.

I think its a little to early for that nonsense. If in year 3 we still can't score, and continue to turnover the ball, and ultimately end up looking like a bunch of 5 win clowns then yes... I will agree with you.

Wisconsin has been terrible since we knocked their QB out.

You play on the road however and not an easy stadium to go in to.

As for Iowa, I haven't had a good feeling about this game until last Saturday.

Before Saturday I was certain you would beat us. Then out of nowhere our offense "sorta" clicked against a good defense.

Until you figure out the QB situation I think we can beat you now.

Here's how I look at it.

I'm not afraid of Sims.
I'm not afraid of a dinged up HH.
I'm not afraid of Purdy.
