Nebraska Flood Charity Recommendations

I would recommend donating to a local church, food pantry or if a bank has a fund set up to accept donations. Our local bank has a donor who will match up to $15,000.
You could also consider the Farm Bureau Foundation, there are a lot of farmers and ranchers who were dealt a horrible blow and are in really bad shape.

I donated to Bethany Elkhorn Missions:
"Bethany Lutheran Church, St. Patrick's Catholic Church - Elkhorn, St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Gretna, Relevant Community Church, Brookside Church (in the former Community of Grace Location), and Country Bible Church of Blair are excited to announce a partnership with the City of Gretna to provide relief services and volunteer housing to service flood relief efforts in Valley, Waterloo, Ashland, and surrounding Nebraska communities.
The strategy of the participating groups is three-fold:
1) Phase One - Help those displaced and living in shelters with materials they need for everyday life
2) Phase Two - Assist in the clean-up and restoration process by providing supplies and volunteer crews
3) Phase Three - Provide those directly impacted with basic household items and services that have been lost to assist them as they work to resume normal daily life
All supplies collected at the Distribution Centers will be packed into supply & clean-up kits that will be distributed as needed to flood-affected areas by Waterloo, Valley and Gretna Fire Departments in the days to come.
A current listing of flood relief needs will soon be available at bethanyelkhorn.org and will be updated daily with what is needed and how you can help. Any requested items can be brought to Bethany’s Mission Center. The core Waterloo Valley Flood Relief team will work to get items to the necessary locations.
If you have friends or family outside of Bethany wanting to donate or provide supplies, donations can be dropped at the Gretna Fire Department from 8am-8pm Monday thru Friday beginning tomorrow. A complete list of items needed can be found here:

Nebraska Cattleman's Association has a fund to help people who have lost livestock or their feed stores. Some of the farm families are in really bad shape as much of their losses were not insurable.
Churches of Christ Disaster Relief This Group was fantastic in the 2015 flood in DeWitt Ne. They were there helping the longest long after most had moved on.. got furnaces and AC units and appliances donated for those that lost theirs. Was a fantastic organization
