It's a good read. Clearly Trev is having a major impact in good ways and you can tell it's already paying off. Good things coming in the near future.

Quotes so nothing is taken out of context:

"We've been close for a while," Frost said. "We're really close now. We've got a team that can compete with just about anybody. Then, once you've built that team, it's learning how to win, then it's learning how to handle winning. We're right in the middle of all that."

"The programs that are successful, it's not just XYZ coach is so successful," Alberts said. "It is an athletic department, university-wide culture commitment, unity of purpose. I'm not sure that Scott was the beneficiary of that necessarily."

Alberts continued, saying, "Cultural things don't get flipped overnight, that's the hard thing. There's got to be a consistency in approach not just from the head football coach. It's got to start right here. I'm accountable to it, too. A place like this, if you're not careful, you can get comfortable and lethargic and entitled. That's not what this place was built on."

"To me, fundamentals can be taught, the hardest thing about flipping a culture is getting guys to be willing to lay it on the line when you really don't want to. We have that. Even in those games we lost, those guys are fighting and that is the most important thing. You have to start with the fight. We're not intimidated or scared, and then we're taking incremental steps in those key areas like special teams and penalties and turnovers. You're always going to have mistakes. It's part of the game, but it can't define who you are."

Frost echoed those comments, saying, "The sense of positivity, the confidence of the players, the physicality of the players, it just feels different. I had this conversation with the players last week -- there's been so many problems to fix, I think we've been focusing so much on fixing, fixing, fixing that fixated us on problems. That's changing."

Asked whether he believes Frost is the person to lead Nebraska forward, Alberts said, "I do. I'm proud of Scott. Scott's working really hard, and I've seen Scott grow and mature. The reality is none of us are finished products. If we get everybody operating from their position of strength, we're going to be pretty good. I'm not sure administratively we always were helpful in that area, and that's my job."

Trev is exactly what Frost needed. Moos didn't hold him accountable for anything. Just win!! GBR

I thought the part about a weak athletic department leading to Frost publicly airing his issues with the conference interesting. Trev has clearly told Frost to stop giving the media bullets, to focus on his team and to let him (Trev) deal with the conference, etc. very impressed with him as an AD.

Agree, don't need to give our opponents even more motivation to win. Just keep playing hard and the wins will come.

Trev seems to have cleaned up a lot of things and helped Frost focus on what is important. Some will be pissed Frost needs the babysitting, I’m just happy we have a true leader running the Athletic Department.

I don't really care whether or not Trev is "babysitting" Scott Frost. As long as we keep getting better on the field, that's all that really matters.

It seems like Frost was pissed about it early on as well, but seems to be seeing the benefits now. He does seem like a different coach at this point. I hope the transformation continues.

Great point. Since Trev took over there haven't been any major "foot in mouth" quotes or new headlines. Frost can focus on football!

Jerry Kill head a good slogan when he was building Minnesota in to a respectful program, "Brick by Brick." It was annoying but that's how you build a program the right way. I really feel confident about the overall direction of the Husker program.

Leave Bill Moos(e) alone. He hired Freddy H., who will be the Big Ten coach of the year! Under his watch (or maybe he wasn’t watching) Nebraska won a National Championship in Women’s bowling!! John Cook didn’t quit and stayed in Lincoln.

Every AD needs to have a beer and unwind, even if it is in another state where you work. His job wasn’t to babysit Scott Frost.

I am glad Trev Alberts has the job now, because he has brought the strap.

I'm waiting to decide how I feel about all of this until Oldjar weighs in....;)

Nebraska bowling and volleyball were already dominate before Drunk *** showed up. He had nothing to do with any of that.

a lot of teams just "play hard" but don't win. It is all in the details of coaching and transferring that onto the field. We obviously have not done a very good job of that to this point.

Just to think the number of people that didn't want Trev. Lots of people are afraid of strong leadership!

moos did ok, he hired frost, and got 150 million upgrades.
but I think alberts had a bit more knowledge about the in's and out's around NU athletics, and Nebraska in general.
so it's working out..really all our ad's tried with what their skill set was..
some just had a lil more applicable skills than others in this particular situation.
