All the history is great - but if all those past (distant past) feats that the geriatric posters like to cite (908 wins - a nat title more than 2 decades ago .. blah blah) are in any way relevant today then we are failing even more spectacularly than just our record suggests

imagine having all those advantages that this history supposedly affords us and still being miles behind teams like Iowa - Purdue - Minnesota - Wisconsin

it would be like Greece demanding to sit at the head table of the UN because way back in ancient history they had the dominant civilization

And Nebraska hasn’t won a national championship in over a generation. So the “how many national championships do you have“ sounds just as stupid from a Nebraska fan as some goat roper from Minnesota bragging about theirs. I have included some 1997 nostalgia to help remember the “good ole days”.

But I’ve been seeing you actively going out of your way to denigrate the huskers every chance you get. It makes you look petty and childish.

Another 20 years and you’ll have very few people alive that even watched the first two national championships by Nebraska. The last one should hit its 25th anniversary if I’m calculating correctly. If you want to feel good about the sorry *** state of this program by going back to watch the grainy non-HD highlights or pop out your old VHS tapes, be my guest, but I will always take winning now over ancient history.

Your comment is fair - I have definitely hit the grumpy old man stage and the atrocious failures year after year to coach, condition and prepare are young men for Saturday games has taken a toll. At the same time, I don’t have a problem admitting to Iowa or Minnesota fans that they have gotten the better of us for the past several years and their programs are currently more successful. To go digging back decades to find something to brag about just makes our fan base look worse, IMO.

I agree, we have been really bad. It’s been a nightmare. I don’t have a problem admitting that either.

I do have a problem with idiot trolls that come over here just to stir the pot. When they do this on our board, they deserve whatever crap comes there way. No need for you to defend them by reminding us of our own ineptitude. We already know all about it.

That’s all from me… at the end of the day, you and I want the same thing. A resurgent program. Here’s to hoping Frost has figured some things out, or Trev sees all he needs to see and moves on from Frost. I am fine with either path.
