All these people bashing moral victories.

Listen no one is happy with the loss but would you rather have lost by 30?

The fight in the 2nd half is good because hopefully it's a sign that will carry over into the other games.

If we fight like we did in the 2nd half for 40 mins, we'll win quite a bit of games.

Lol

It’s come to this. The University of Kentucky basketball team getting excited off of moral victories. Never mind that they were down 24 to a bad ND team to begin with. Let’s celebrate almost coming back against a bad team.

Bottom line is we're 1-4 with 2 losses to.mediocre teams in Rupp. This is not acceptable.

Also, yeah, we came most of the way back, but lets be real, ND let off the gas and never recovered. Dont buy into the fools gold, this team is so far away on so many aspects of the game. I don’t know if Cal can fix this in time tbh. We're going to get beaten badly when we start playing good teams.

I'm so tired of losing games in Rupp and really tired of watching bad basketball for most of the year just because Cal wants to get guys to the NBA.

Yeah when you are up by 24 there's just a natural tendency to let up a bit.

I do think the defense played a lot better in the second half tho which did contribute to a lot of ND's issues.

The offense right now.............outside of Sarr is just awful. They need to figure it out on offense and figure it out quick. ND isn't even a good defensive team.

UK only turned it over 4 times in the 2nd half. 11 times for the game. Went 4-10 in the 2nd half from 3. Notre ended up winning this game at the free throw line.

One you let off the gas, you won't get it back. Yes, our defense stepped up, but we can't ignore the fact that ND let off.
But you just aren't going to beat good teams when you can't score. Boston needs to sit. Give Allen his minutes, BJ hurts our offense, at least put a guy in that can score the ball.
We just kept taking jump shots, all game long. Jump shot after jump shot.
Now we get to sit in this tub of **** for another week before we get another chance to get the bad taste out of our mouths.

We played better with Boston out of the lineup.

I know this is looking at things in hindsight but Boston stumbling on that last play messed things up.

Honestly not sure why Boston was even out there.

Well that doesn’t bode well because there’s no way Boston rides the bench at any point lol

What we have to hope for is that simply guys like Boston and Askew figure it out as the season goes on.
Hope it's a situation where we take our lumps with them at the beginning of the year but the lights go on later on.

Which who knows. I mean it's not as if we haven't had players struggle at the beginning of years only to figure it out later on.

We all know why he's out there and that’s one of many issues I have with Cal. He allows certain players to play through mistakes, but others make one mistake and they're out.
Boston carelessly chucked the ball all over the court and Cal continued to not only keep him in the game, but at times ran the offense through him.
If I'm Allen and Fletcher, I walk. It’s not about earning your spot here, it's about wo has the highest nba potential.

I kinda understand that tho.

Ultimately you are going to need talent to produce to win titles.

Cal feels like if Boston and Askew don't get going, this season isn't going anywhere anyways so he's more inclined to play them through the mistakes.

My biggest gripe tho is there's no reason why Allen can't be a productive role player on this team. You are down 24. You need 3s to get back into the game. To me, it seemed like a situation that was just right for Allen to get in.

We did go 4-10 from 3 in the second half. I just felt tho he deserved a shot at that pt.

Fake news. Did you miss the birth of your son when you have no children? No. You did not. Did you miss the supernova of the sun yesterday? No, because it didn’t happen. That isn’t semantics. It’s calling someone out on their utterly inane ********.

It's semantics. I'm not arguing with you or anyone else on the matter anymore. If this makes you feel like a real bad ***. Glad I could help.

Only positive here is that I called 11 turnovers in the prediction thread and was right on the money. That’s my moral victory.

edit - actually predicted 12. Back to misery....

lol. I don't think I put a number in that thread but I felt it be much lower than what we did up until that point.

I don't know if it's improved or it's just the fact that ND doesn't really force turnovers lol

We probably out athletic most teams we play players 1-10. We are usually 'longer' and deeper than most teams we play. Those two things should bode well playing an up tempo fast paced offense and defense. Yet we seem to help teams out by not pressuring and wearing them down. We allow them to play half court offense, shooting a bunch of three's. Why do we not see that we have an advantage playing this way and wearing out other teams in the second half? Why do we play the way they want to play?
