I'll let a one loss team slide here but theres no way a 2 loss team should be mentioned here, regardless of who they lost to.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with either of you, but let's be honest, if that was any other team besides South Point, they wouldn't still be 7th. They would probably be just outside the Top 10 at best. South Point carries their tradition when it comes to poll voters. As do a lot of the schools in all classes. But I honestly couldn't care less. Just posting my 2 cents.

definitely some parody this season, I am interested in seeing how good Pisgah is. Most mountain teams are garbage n that whole song n dance but beating Asheville always raises eyebrows. Now is this a formidable Asheville team or no, time will tell. As far as SP being ranked 7th with a 1-2 record....we know that they will be there in the end, pure fact that there isnt many teams out there that can knock them or crest off right now. Poll wise, not deserving of number 7...but like I said they will be top 7 in the end. Forestview and Km should both be a lil lower. Forestview hasnt proven to be contender yet and KM has just proven that they can possibly be smoke and mirrors and time will tell if they have it or not. Poll looks IMO aside from a few adjustments.

I have a hard time believing that any team that loses 2 out of their first 3 games could beat any other team in the state... Obviously they all must have played the same top 2 teams then. And CB1, I am in no means implying that Burns should be listed.

I just don't care for teams being ranked or listed when that ranking is basically riding on what the did last year. How long after the "glory years" did it take for folks to stop handing Independence the 4A crown every year before the season started?

Bottom line is how many losses does it take to bring a team that is *SUPPOSED* to be good back down below teams that are actually winning?

Just my opinion which is mine and means nothing to anyone but me.

We are not good Rev. I'm not kidding you when I say we will be around .500. The pisgah guys will/are furious that i say that because it would look good on their part to have beaten a typical Asheville team, but we are falling on hard times presently. Pisgah deserves to beat us, but are they a state championship contender? Hell no. Still early, I hope we can salvage a decent record.

Nobody mentioned Burns being in the poll so shut up little man. We have not beaten anyone to earn a mention. Get back in the truck daddy bought you and go play. Let the grown ups talk. You mention us more than we do. The only thing I would change until a few more games are played is FV and KM. Other than that it looks about right.

Well the Forestview win over KM was an eye-opener. If they can pull out another impressive win over East Lincoln, they will definitely be a team to look at.

3A west looks really weak this year in both classifications Unless one or both of the Alamance schools go west instead of east I don't see any of them doing well in a final based on what I see now. That could all change in the next few months but that remains to be seen.

It's still early in the game. You don't have to be undefeated to be a state champion. AC Reynolds has the #1 toughest schedule in the state and Erwin the 7th. If they had chosen to play weak teams then they would probably be undefeated and high ranked. Wins and losses can be deceiving.

Hibriten should go undefeated. I could see them in the western 3A game to go to the states.

like mad dog said, no Burns poster has said Burns, as a matter of fact we are saying the opposite. We still need to prove worthy.

Last season the schedules were about the same but even if the teams lost they all looked crisp compared to this year and the losses were close. They all just seem off compared to last season and more mistake prone....with lop sided losses not the close buzzer beater type of losses.

I joke about rose colored glasses but i agree we are not there yet as Huss dropped another close one to fall to 0-3 and cc has been devestated with injuries early ....heck chase could be the best team we have played yet. Their d is for real but they play most guys both ways and that will take a toll esp. Early in the year with the heat.

I guess it was coincidence. That several Burns fans commented on their dislike of the poll. I suspect being 3-0 is such a new experience. Questioning a sorry team with 2 losses would be logical. And,SP is a sorry team .They just don't know it yet.

No backer we were 3-0 last year ....then lost 7 but we won the first 3.

Please stop posting on this topic! Please! You have made yourself look really ignorant. You are proving to be a failed hater. You cannot even do it with accuracy. Burns fans questioned the logic that goes into the poll just like the logic your parents used to have you. It did not make sense but with a little clarification we are good now. To top it off you even called SP sorry and they beat Crest. That is awesome!! Burns fans know where we are. 3-0 on a rebuilding year is a blessing more than anything. Even when Matt Beam took over at Burns they started 0 - 4 or worse.

I agree with Burns 1985 on this one.South Point lost to two 2A schools.Not saying that the 2 teams were not above average but the were still 2A teams.
