With my crew Friday it really will be over $100. I always try to eat at the stadium to support the schools like they do ours but good lord.
That’s what I want to know. The school does all the work. The NCHSAA just sits back and sucks at everything they do while collecting.

All I am saying is that with that such fund and it continues to grow each year there is no excuse that all teams in state should have the best helmet money can buy , schools should not have to be put on the hook for those period.

High school athletics should never be incorporated into capitalism. That's not at all what the nchsaa should be about. These are kids, whose family has to try and find a small fortune to watch their loved one(s) play a sport.
How do you expect schools to pay the bills? Equipment prices have gone up because of tariffs. Officiating fees have increased some over recent years. Transportation cost have increased. Some of the trips in the playoffs are going to be very expensive.
Yeah it sucks but many of the families going on a Friday night have no issue forking out thousands for travel ball and training. I know that's not everyone's reality and I truly do feel bad for the families that struggle to have to pay to watch their kid but we've made everything about money in this world and it's expensive to run an athletic program.
What are you talking about? I can only speak for Crest but the NCHSAA does not give Crest money for anything. All they do is take. We raise our own money for anything we get. The NCHSAA takes the money but they never give the money.

Very little money from the playoff gate goes to the school after expenses get paid. Some teams lose money playing a playoff game. Now money from concessions and half and half etc help. But most of the schools athletic budgets come from regular season football gate money.
The association had 40+ million dollars in the endowment fund when the GA got involved. They stopped doing the endowment game so I assume they are trying to make up for it with these ticket prices. Not to mention using smaller facilities for the championship games 
I would be they are def trying to use the playoffs to make up for the loss of the endowment game, also, did the GA not make them release a good portion of the endowment fund back to the schools during Covid? Maybe I am wrong about that.
I'm not saying it's right for the NCHSAA to sit on money as they shouldn't but they get 15% of the gate then the 2 schools playing split the rest. I don't think that part has changed. It's also very expensive to run 8 state championship games. Using those facilities isn't free. I'd be curious to know what it costs the NCHSAA for state championship games.
Ya the NCHSAA doesn't provide schools funding for any of that stuff. Youre talking about coaches or schools receiving grants, County budget funding, etc. I'd maybe do your research on who gets what.

I am not saying the NCHSAA is providing any of that stuff. The ticket you purchase will be split 3 ways. So traditionally while a school keeps 100% it gate receipts in the regular season, home schools in this round will get $5.60 per ticket sold.
So while $14 seems like alot and it is for a high school game, it's $14 for a reason. If you run a business and sell a $5 product for $10 and that product goes up to $8 for your cost, are you going to keep selling it at $10?
I'm well aware of how this works and who gets what.
Maybe ask the General Assembly to stick their nose in it again.
I’m glad everyone seems to get the point that it’s ridiculous and the state doesn’t help the schools but one person in this tread.
Well the one person that started the thread posted something about state championship sites without verifying it, so say what you want about me. I get how this works and understand the costs to run an athletic program. Everyone else seems to have a hard time understanding that yeah while the NCHSAA gets their cut and we question that the rest is split amongst the 2 schools playing.
Nothing is getting cheaper so as I have said, what do you want folks running things to do?

Where did I say they give the schools anything? I see your little gif there, I guess that's your face looking for it because you're really struggling understanding that I'm not taking up for the NCHSAA or saying they give anything.
I'm simply pointing out that the gate increase gets split 3 ways and schools have to pay their bills somehow. Not every school has a 5 figure split the pot yearly to help cover expenses. Let's say the NCHSAA doesn't take their 15%. Thats still $12 a ticket getting split 2 ways so a school is netting $6 a ticket where they usually net $8-$10 a ticket.
Of course, this is hard for you to understand. I'm sure you thought life was going to get cheaper when January came.
