I don't know much about Wade other than what happened while he was at LSU. Just my opinion, but I'd bet that he's probably ready to get a few of the guys on this team out of Raleigh.

I didn’t check to see if this video I watched is true, but supposedly there’s been 4 times in tournament history that a team was a 1 seed and all four played Mt Saint Marys (16 seed) but didn’t win it all that season. Kentucky in 95, Michigan State in 99, the holes in 08, and Villanova in 17.
All four were 1 seeds also the following tournament, and won it all.

If this is true, then the 5th team? Duke. We were a 1 seed last season and our 16 seed? Mt Saint Mary’s.

Ha, that's crazy Mac. My father (85 years old) is Mt. St Mary's alum, so I always follow them!

The TX NCSt game was a great game to kick of the tourney. I generally root for other ACC teams in the tourney, but I have to say, I am not unhappy to see State go down. Their fan base is horrible, and IMHO Will Wade is a big crybaby who encourages thugdom. But, not so say TX is much better....... :(

State will probably be better without Williams and Copeland.

When the ball is in their hands ball movement ceases. Williams tries backing down most the time and Copeland drives into traffic while others watch.

During midsession Copeland was playing at 1st team ACC level. It fell apart though.

Anyone know what's with the rumors that Pat won't be available this weekend? As some including myself have said, this wouldn't surprise me. You don't go from still in a boot on Sunday to playing tomorrow.

Coach Scheyer is having a press conference at 12:30pm ET/11:30am CT and will talk about the status of Ngongba. Hopefully, he has good news!

I am not very optimistic about this situation. It's very much in the Duke way not to share much info about injuries which I don't disagree with, but I am not have a good feeling about this. We should win our first two games and can make a deep run without Pat, but the margin for error is very, very thin the further we go.

Jon with the same cryptic message as usual. I'm extremely disappointed smh
To add to that, really reading between the lines- did you see his facial expression and body language when asked about him? If you didn’t, go watch the clip. I was one of the ones who was saying two weeks ago he was fine but that certainly changed after today.

I’m not sure I’m ready to say we won’t make it out of the first weekend, but I think the fans have a right to be a bit upset at Jon and his boilerplate answers he gives about injuries and availability. I’ll catch sh*t for this but I’m not sure we see him back at all if he’s STILL bound to a scooter today.

This is a classic old school K strategy that Jon has adopted.

As a fan it's frustrating for sure. However, as a coach, it makes good sense not to share too much information with your competitors. Sienna is Sienna. If we can't beat them without Pat and Foster we should be in the NIT. But from the second round onward, it makes a huge difference on how teams prepare for us if they KNOW Pat is in or they KNOW he is out. Pat's presence changes the dynamic of our team immensely on both ends. So teams are forced to make two game plans which is even more challenging in this tourney.

Again, I don't like it as a fan, but it makes sense on a competitive level. :(

Totally understand but when a kid is on a scooter and has been for two weeks now, common sense from the other staff tells them he’s not going to all of a sudden be ready to contribute at this level in 3 days. I’d imagine OSU and TCU know they won’t have to game plan for him.

End of my rant but man am I frustrated that this happened at this time of year after such an outstanding year. Hopefully we can literally live by the slogan “survive and advance” through not only this weekend, but moving forward if we get out of Greenville.

Here we go again. We just beat 3 good teams on consecutive days to win the ACC Championship and now we can’t make it out of the first weekend without Pat.

I also don’t think Jon owes anyone an explanation on Pat’s status, especially the fans. All we should care about is winning.
If this makes it tougher on the opponent, then it’s a good strategy.

I think we all believe that we can win without them. It's just that the margin of error is smaller but this is one and done territory unlike last week. Stakes are much higher now.

And as far as Pat, it's just disappointment after disappointment . We thought we would have him for UNC to suddenly seeing him as a GTD then to he'll be out for the ACCT then now. What's changed in 2 weeks from a GTD to still in a boot?

Said no where they wouldn’t make it out of the first weekend. Jon doesn’t “owe” the fans anything but folks are allowed to be disappointed in the injuries, particularly Pats and vague updates. We all know the program doesn’t have to update anyone but you’re just wearing rose colored glasses if you don’t think it impacts us in a negative way as games get harder.

One game at a time and hopefully we come out strong tomorrow and take care of business. LGD

The first game and second game Duke easily win with out Pat after that it’s a crap shoot. Duke however the first two games especially in the frontcourt can not get into early foul trouble . I don’t expect Pat to play .
