WTF!! He had the TD at the buzzer. Also another second of RT would have tie it up. These 3rd/5th/7th place matches are sucking my soul little by little.

WTF Wittlake??? Makes no attempt to escape with 6 seconds left in the 2nd and then finishes with 0:59 seconds of riding time in a one point match!

He had the match and went into Boo mode. That sucked so bad. Didn't he watch Sheets wrestle. What a total embarrassment. Not the way to finish a great tournament. He and Boo were the supior wrestlers and just gave it away. I am literally sick to my stomach

Man Wittlake has the ability but you have to know when you need 1 more second of riding time and can’t get taken down in last 20 seconds and then really no attempt to escape last 6 seconds. He will learn from this.

Tough crowd around here. We love you when you are winning.
We have our highs and lows around here. All of our wrestlers have had a great tournament. Sheets has impressed the hell out of me with wrestling through his injury. He'll get the surgery he needs and then be back and ready for more next year. Boo and Wittlake looked flat in their 3rd place matches. Wittlake can learn from it and Boo has had a great career at oSu.

I hope Boo and Travis saw Geer's match and are crying in thier soup. That's the way you wrestle; go to the mat, roll around, sometimes you come out on top sometimes you don't. At least you tried. They didn't even try and they should be ashamed of thier performace or lack there of. Talk about Harris blowing 2nd because of throwing head gear. Neither one of them did anything in the whole tournament worth a head gear toss.

It's not the lossing that is getting dissed, it's the nearly total lack of effort. Sheets lost and he gets nothing but respect from me for his effort. If Geer had been unable to fight off the takedown as he did in the 1st period and came out on bottom in the scrambles; I would have nothing but respect for him, as I do now. This is my 43rd year as an OSU wrestling fan and nothing makes me mader/sader than when our superior wrestler(s) gives a lack of effort whether he wins or losses.

It is likely he heard the ref counting for the return to mat. He had to cut him or get hit for a second stall which would have just been trading points.

You are just going to have to be disappointed. Each one of these wrestlers got to AA status with what they are good at. They aren’t going to change their style all of a sudden. If Boo does a flying Austin Desanto style windmill kick would it make it better? Boo wasn’t going to score on that guy. He hadn’t been hit for stalling and was quick as hell. If Boo dives at his ankles he will just spin behind him for the takedown. Wittlake just wrestled his first NCAA tournament and as a 10 seed finished 4th. The ceiling is high for him. I’ve got absolutely no complaints.

I wasn’t thrilled with Boo and Whittlake’s last matches but every single wrestler who took the mat this weekend can find a moment or two where they could have picked up and extra team point along the way.

It is what it is. Hard for me to get too worked up when everyone one of these kids wrestled their tail off this weekend.

Boo broke his body for OSU wrestling. I couldn’t be more grateful for the effort he put into our program. I for one am hoping he isn‘t crying into his soup (whatever that means) after this last match in orange.

Again if this young team was wearing blue and white and performed the way they did this weekend most on this board would be lauding the young talent and the coaching ability to get his team to “peak” at the right time.

Hell of a weekend already in the books. Pulling for two young leaders to add to that tonight.

I'm so fired up to watch Daton & AJ tonight it feels like bedlam football gameday. Well, actually better cause I expect our team to win tonight.

I am really glad that Wittlake is not going to end the season poorly so I was wrong. Also this is the best the Cowboys have wrestled in a long time. Let's go for the team Championship next year and a great day tomorrow would be outstanding. AJ is the best thing for Cowboy wrestling and a wrestler to build with. I think Daton and AJ if they win tomorrow will improve our recruiting with top high school wrestlers who will want to join what is starting in Stillwater.
Getting four All Americans today was good but tonight's round is very important I believe for the Program. We have not had a National Champion since Alex ( a long time). Wrestling remembers National Champs, runner ups not near as much. We have recruited very good lately but 2 National Champs especially a freshman and a sophomore who will be around for years will jump our Program up a level in everyone's eyes including future Blue Chip recruits.

Spot on Harley. Getting a freshman and a sophomore to the finals will get recruits attention. Both of them winning.....yes sir.

Before the tournament started I absolutely would have taken these finishes by Boo, Wittlake, Geer and Sheets. They all wrestled well. I'm especially happy for Wyatt. However, Boo and Wittlake's final matches were very disappointing. Both could have and probably should have won. 3rd place is a big deal. Oh well.

I’m happy with the AAs but the way Boo and Witlake wrestled their final match shows the difference between our wrestlers and wrestlers from Penn State and Iowa.
I would be interested in Stanford’s 165 if he has eligibility left. Anybody who beats Maronelli has my attention.

I‘m not even sure what this means. Most of the Penn State wrestlers are going to end the tourney with a loss, just like Boo and Travis.

How many OSU wrestlers in this tournament didn’t wrestle to their seed? If Daton wins, every single one of our wrestlers wrestled to their seed and many wrestled way above their seed. To sit and criticize Boo and Travis in the 3rd place match is looney tunes. Show some damn appreciation on how hard it is to finish 4th. But if he would have finished 3rd it would have been something to celebrate. Are you guys serious? If it was as easy as some of you make it sound nobody would ever lose. Did anyone show appreciation for the bonus point win Boo had in the conso semis? How about when Travis took down a really good wrestler from Ohio State? Do you think they just decided to then not give effort in the next match? I’ll take 10 guys that finish 4th every single year.
