No one will care. Mike rice threw some balls and it was ESPN outside the lines material for weeks. Kansas has literally turned the sport into a joke by circumventing every rule, but they win, and make the ncaa money, and eyeballs on TV, so no one will care

Seems like the NCAA cares, and appears they will take a stand here , and hand out severe penalties and then fight U Kansas in court. Should be interesting. Not sure when the last time they used the words 'severe and egregious' in a public statement.

"Legendary ESPN announcer Dick Vitale noticed the forceful tone of the NCAA in its Thursday response to the Kansas athletic department’s stance that it is not guilty of any of the five Level One violations alleged by the organization against KU basketball.

“It’s been really a tough time going on up in Jayhawk land right now,” the 80-year-old Vitale said in a Twitter Q and A with fans on Friday.

“The NCAA … they are not playing games, man. They are really coming after people. A few other schools are going to be a little nervous right now, as well, really a nervous wreck,” added Vitale, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

I'll believe it when I see it. There have been a few occasions in the past when the NCAA has actually penalized a major program (USC football comes to mind) but generally the penalties are far less than the infractions merit (ala PSU, Kentucky, Louisville, etc.) or the school gets off entirely (UNC, Miami).

Kansas is not in an ESPN prime conference... unlike UNC. ESPN is all about SEC football and ACC basketball.. they fill the schedule with everyone else. It is safer for the NCAA to go after Kansas... so they might just do that.

Wonder how the NCAA will react if Zion admits to accepting "gifts" at Duke. Not getting my hopes up, that's for sure

Bomani Jones made an interesting point on LeBatard's show. He said that no one would doubt that Zion took money if Calipari was his coach.

NCAA has given us no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt until they actually step up and do something.
They have repeatedly folded at the mere mention of a lawsuit from a well financed school. Maybe they'll finally get a backbone?

It would be shocking if he admitted that. It would be even more shocking if the NCAA actually punished Duke.

Hell will freeze over before the NCAA penalizes Duke basketball, no matter how bad their offenses may have been. That is why so much of the country hates Duke, just like they hate ND football. I was so happy when Stephen F. Austin won at Cameron in the game following their loss at the RAC!
