OU’s point guard looks out of place without Ferris and Sloane.

Watch how Gonzaga stesses the other guys offense constantly with three quarter court pressure and traps in the half court pushing you out of what you want to set up. Then mix in some man to man and then back to the semi pressure again. It creates mental and physical fatigue for the offense and is exactly what Ive dreamed of us doing the last 10 years with our athletes and length.

I can still dream . . .
To be sure, Gonzaga's play is a thing of beauty.

But, you can't teach that kind of coordination & precision to a team comprised of first year arrivals (OADs & Xfers). It takes a lot of reps in practice and game experience to develop this type of team. Zags start a Sr, a RS/Jr, a Jr, a sophomore and a freshman. They have three total redshirts on the team (which adds to the practice reps, experience, and maturity).

I think they might do well this tournament.

Did the commentator just pull out a Grateful Dead reference?
"Wheel is turning and can't slow down"

Yep 14:14

The excitement factor today has been a huge comedown after what we saw this weekend. Hopefully we'll get some close ones tonight.

It's funny all those posts saying that playing in a weak conference can't possibly prepare someone for the tournament and as such Gonzaga isn't going to do well.

Yet they are up 17 and we've seen power conference after power conference team go home early. Many from the Big 10 which most saw as the top conference.

I think Baylor is the only team that can beat them.

You see how easy the game is when you have real basketball players that understand how to play the game.

OU hanging but almost have to score on every possession. Reaves may be able to do it.

The spread for the game was Gonzaga -14.5. Those who took Oklahoma are cautiously optimistic lol

Really was hoping OK could take them down, the hot shooting to start had me slightly hopeful but they haven't been able to buy anything lately and the window has been there. I do feel better seeing the Zags not completely blow the doors off them though.

Did I just hear that right. Zags shot 49% today, which was the lowest this season?

Going in to the tournament their lowest game was 49.3%. I believe they shot that twice. Today was 49.1, so yea, that would make it their lowest. Only like 4 times did they shoot under 50% and that counts today if my memory serves.

Depending on the regional assignments of your four teams, that's a pretty good bracket considering all the carnage that has taken place.

GBB!

I am 91.2 percentile. There have been years where I've had eight out of 10 and I would be in the 80s. That's just how crazy this year is. The only final four team I lost was Illinois.

They are absurdly well coached.
As NavyCat pointed out it does help to have experience for sure, but still the the evidence that they are well coached is how they all play so much alike on both ends. Its not just a few, the seem well drilled.

Cal has his stronger points too but I just thing his overall offensive and defensive philosophies seemt ask his guys to do it the harderst way possible and grind it out. I'd just love to see whether or not it would have made a difference to use our athleticism more to disrupt and fatigue the other guys and create more easy baskets instead of grinding it out in man defense and set offense so much. Nobody likes to face pressure or be made uncomfortable and thats what Gonzaga tries to do to you a lot of the time.
