Only reason to am rooting for Illinois is for my bracket. Kinda mad at myself for not rooting on underdogs because if it.
Just feel Loyola has an answer for every Illinois bucket. They are playing great.
I just don't think they do this like people seem to think they do.
People talk ratings but this is the NCAA tournament. Illinois fans are watching this game regardless of who they are playing. Loyola Chicago fans are watching this game regardless of who they are playing. And for the neutral fan you are either like the people in this thread that are probably watching all games today or you're just a casual fan in which case the fact that these two teams are based close to one another isn't really moving the needle either way.
CBS is getting the ratings they want regardless of who is playing IMO.
These Illinois guards are really not playing smart. Foul a dude with 1 second on the shot clock. SMH
I like the big boy on Loyola he plays his butt off they all do. The PG is also really a smart player and he controls the game well. Interesting the Loyola coach Moser hasn’t been picked off esp after that run they had a few years back.
To my knowledge they have never said anything to that effect. But if you can find something where someone from CBS was like yeah we told the committee we wanted Team A and Team B to face one another and so they seeded them that way and threw them into the same bracket just so that we can have that matchup we've always wanted, I would definitely be interested in seeing that lol.
Same coach from a few years back? If so, pretty impressive building of a program that I hadn’t even heard of before that run. To have a 1 seed on the ropes again, crazy.
it’s hard to remember maybe but they let the cat out of the bag several times. not that it wasn’t obvious. an official said it in 2011, emmert eluded to it in 2017, and jim nance openly talks about it. he talks with ncaa officials and then quotes it during a game. has happened several times.
Yes he’s been there for 10 years they said earlier. It is impressive this team is fun to watch. They play together and hard.
Loyola's SOS wasn't near as good as UK's.

Me too man even had them winning it all in one of the pools I’m in. Don’t care been rooting for Loyola and all the underdogs. Anyone who had Loyola over Illini deserves to win haha
This is why I stopped playing brackets after the 2011 season just takes fun out of rooting for teams. Of course I almost always put Kentucky as my champ and I stopped for the 2012 year the one they won...go figure.
Big dude makes it look easy, while not one person on our team could make a layup this past season.
