Do they put a microphone in the ut band section? I always see other teams bands but can barely hear them. You can always hear that damn rocky top playing.

There's always exactly one game going on in the 1st round that it close. Just turned it to TNT.

There has never been back to back tournaments where the 1-4 seeds won all 16 games....it looks like that is about to happen.

This is where portal and NIL have robbed us of the big upsets. No more #15, #14 or #13 seed wins at the rate we used to see.

So could Villanova not do better than Kevin Willard? Honestly I would’ve went with an up-and-comer coach over that guy.

1-4 isnt supposed to go down easy. High Point literally just knocked of Whisky yesterday. There are less than 150000 perfect brackets left.

Siena almost beat Duke, and probably should have.. plenty of upsets so far. This tournament is still awesome and so much fun.
High Point won, VCU coming back down 19 was insane!! 1-4 seeds aren't supposed to lose right away.

Miami was a fraud.

I think this is a disingenuous argument. Yes, Miami didn't have a strong SOS but they beat everyone on that schedule. They tried to schedule lots of power teams and those teams refused to play them. I think most people knew they weren't going to beat Tennessee but they won a game in the tournament, showing they deserved to be in the field.

I mean i think it calls into question just how often in people's opinion SHOULD a 15,14 and 13 win?

I would say something to the effect of less than 10%
a 13 beats a 4 at 20% clip alone so far (33-127)
a 14 beats a 3 at a 14% clip alone so far (23-137)
a 15 beats a 2 at a 7% clip so far (11-149)

Last year plus this year ? 28-0 they are so far

Quite a huge difference

Let me repeat it has never happened in the history of the tournament since it expanded in 1985 and it is about to happen.

But this is such a small sample tho.
Surely there’s other two year period where similar has happened given those % overall.

And this is unpopular maybe since the appeal tends to be Cinderella and upsets but these teams rarely do well next round.

more upsets lead to more blowouts IMo in later rounds and I’m not sure I really want that.
I’d LOVE a second round with just 1 vs 8 4/5 etc. that would be 16 awesome games

There have only been 5 tournaments in the last 40 years (1994, 2000, 2004, 2007, 2017) where no team seeded 13 or worse won a game.

That was before last year so we are going to have back to back years for the first time ever where all 1-4 seeds advance.
