Watching these UNC and BYU (likely) round outs, it’s hard not to think… are you really telling me a guy like Caleb Wilson or AJ Dybantsa (or Ament, etc) wouldn’t have had as good or better a year playing as the star of a Kentucky team they probably could have elevated to a top 4 seed and a deep tourney run? And made similar or more money, more tv exposure, more fans… are we/Pope really so uncool that we can’t sell that? What are we doing wrong? I feel like a lot of our JMI/Pope personality/Mitch conspiracy theorizing is just attempts to answer that question.

BYU wasn’t exactly killing it when they had Saunders either, to be honest. No amount of money will make BYU beyond above average. Most kids don’t want to go to a Mormon school and many parents don’t want their kids to be coached by a Mormon either.
