Let’s talk about that, Baylor has former Blue Devil Jeremy Roach and former Miami standout Norchad Omier (sp?) and a dynamic freshmen guard but they’ve been up and down all year.

Baylor: #58 defense and #16 offense in KenPom
Miss State: #47 Defense and #23 offense.

I would have liked to see Tennessee again to get revenge and because I think this Duke team is better suited to play against them. But you had to know it was UT or AL.

A big question is Malik Brown.

Duke is always so secretive with injuries. On the other hand, given the amount of gambling money on the tournament, one would think there would be pressure to give some indication as to his availability or potential availability?

And I think that will be a huge determination as to whether Duke can have a shot. Against the better SEC teams we will need his defense.

And more so, praying for Malik so he gets a chance to play and contribute. Just really love him.

Also, possibly Cal vs Pitino in round 2!

But that would be a tough win for Arkansas over Kansas (even though Kansas has fallen on hard times).

Don’t think we can expect much from Maliq in this event but we have substituted with a player who brings elite offense and shot blocking with Patrick NGongba. Won’t be any violins for the Devils as long as Flagg is back.

Alabama would have to beat Wisconsin to make the elite eight.
Baylor lost to Houston by 4 on March 8th.

Yeah all the outlets seem to really like our draw- at least through sweet 16. Every fellow Duke fan I’ve talked to likes it too.

All hinges on Coop of course

I'd rather play Miss St than Baylor. We should be able to beat either.
Baylor was 19-14. MSU was 21-12. MSU best wins was Ole Miss and TA&M. They lost to the top of the SEC.

FWIW I am looking at ESPN's preseason top 25. I do this sometimes because it can give some idea of talent, even if that talent underachieves. Baylor was preseason 7th, one spot ahead of us. Arizona was 9th. Obviously our rating was too low but we had a lot of new pieces. Number 1 was Kansas, which is way off. Alabama was second.

Not taking anything for granted, but we have a relatively easy path to the elite eight. It's the tournament it's never going to be a cakewalk. And Bama could get upset. (so could we though)
By the way...Bubba Cunningham being head of the selection committee is an enormous conflict of interest. West Virginia got screwed.

Women got screwed with South Carolina. Also, having the cheats as our 3 in the same region and side of the bracket to potentially play each other in the sweet sixteen is ********.

Out of curiosity, I watched the Women's selection show....if you think the Men's selections were not great...well, have a look at the Women's brackets...if all goes chalk...the final 4 teams in the semi-finals would be playing each other for the 4TH time! And ND who is the ACC regular season co-champion...is a 3rd seed! Duke plays Lehigh....revenge game for 2012...lol

Anyone complaining or worried about our bracket would be regardless of our region. We have the best 8/9 matchup by far. Imagine being number 1 overall and rewarded with Lville in Lexington.. I’ll pass. We’ve already beaten our 4 at their place. Our 2 has the worst defensive Kenpom rating of 2 seeds and there best player is seeing a knee specialist. Our 3 is the third worst one as well and we’re on the opposite side of the bracket from Florida and Auburn who both have more difficult roads


As fast as Carolina I knew they were in as did others on the board, it shouldn’t be a shock and they have a chance to get to a sweet 16. Don’t be upset it’s ok we beat them 3 times haha let them have their fun.

Agreed fully with that first part. Our 8/9 matchup won’t be “easy” but it’s the most ideal of the four.
