Those that deem a depth conference the “best conference” ignoring top end strength as a consideration.

Michigan as an 11 was supposed to lose today, but won. So the league has exactly as many wins as projected by the seeding, just not by the team thay was most expected to win.

By this logic the WCC becomes the best conference this season if Gonzaga wins the championship.
You can certainly have differing opinions about the best way to rank conferences but to declare one objectively correct is bizarre.
No no no. That’s your logic - or what your ascribing. I’m saying the lack of titles over an extended period of time is evidence it’s not the best conference. Kenpom would even tell you over that same period the big is not often the most frequent conference with the most teams in kenpom top 10.
This is a nuanced conversation for sure and you know that.
And to be clear I haven’t declared any conference the best of late. People not me have declared big ten the best! I have said the big ten is overrated.

Big10 is the deepest, which makes it the toughest IMO.
But the "Best" conference is up for debate. There are a lot of contenders. All depends on how you measure "Best"

I think it was the best conference in 19-20 and 20-21 (even with the tournament flame out) but that’s not like a permanent state of affairs. I think it is the 2nd strongest this year. I don’t remember like 2009.
But also when you said overrated I figured you meant outside this board. In general I expect a conference to be overrated by its own fanbases
